Blue Willows nice but cmon, best brunch? Hacienda is cool too but its no match when it comes to brunch! Get real and stop letting the advertisers tell you who to pick! See for yourself hackers!

Re: “Best Friday Night Fish Fry

Went to the hideout to check it out. There was a news program on the tv regarding the Paula Dean scandal. Hubby is African American. The couple next to us started speaking very loudly... Whats wrong with that and started repeating the N word of course directed at us. Obviously we left. If these ignorant people dont like other races or cultures I wonder why they were sitting in a bar owned by a gentlemen who is hispanic. Sorry won't be back if this type of thing is tolerated.

Re: “Best Seafood

Maynard's is far better at doing seafood. Never going back to the dingy Kingfisher.

Re: “Best Seafood

Worst place I've eat at in Tucson - it was so dark inside, who knows what I ate...and being from Seattle - this is not top shelf seafood. Someone at The Weekly must have stock in this place...never going back.

Re: “Best Upscale Cuisine

Had the Thanksgiving buffet at Hacienda del Sol last year. Just felt like taking a year off from the all day cooking. If this is representative of their usual fare I have to say we were immensely unimpressed, especially considering the $65 a head they were charging. The desserts were provided by an outside vendor, the turkey was dry as toast, a scallop appetizer dish was obviously previously frozen and was being kept at a dangerous lukewarm temperature. If this is the acme of Tucson fine dining than this city deserves the reputation people in Phoenix like to heap upon it.

Re: “Best Pizza

Vero Amore. Ballparks and lunch counters are all the majority of New Yorkers know about pizza. Vero Amore is the real deal like what you'll get in the best places in Little Italy.

Re: “Best Delicatessen

A restaurant that serves sandwiches made with the same cold cuts you can buy at the grocery store is not a deli. This is a decent sandwich shop but the word delicatessen only applies to establishments that roast their own meats and preferably bake their own bread as well. Being a native New Yorker I find it quite irksome to see the word delicatessen used so indiscriminately.

Re: “Are You Ready for What the Future Shall Bring?

"Best Beer Selection" should have three categories: draft, bottle and most importantly local.

"Best Local Brew" would also be a good category now that we have so many breweries in town.

Re: “Best Public Art

Great waste of money is what it is especially "Flying Books". Oh and what the hell does David Black's Sonora have to do with Sonora in the first place?! Chicano mural art and statues have much more meaning and craftsmanship than the crap these gringos produced. Take it down and stop wasting taxpayer money you idiots!

Re: “Best Pizza

Apparently no tried Dry River Pizza far the best pizza in Tucson. Brooklyn is just okay. Empire, Magpies, and Sauce all have better Pizza than Brooklyn. Brooklyn only won because it is cheap.

Re: “Best Sonoran Hot Dogs

After eating a sonoran dog at Papa Locos I can not eat one at EC. PL uses all beef dogs that are bigger so the you actually get meat with the first and last bites and the buns are to die for. EC uses those cheap little 3 meat scrap dogs. This review says in all.
