Re: “Never Mind Donald Trump!

The best part of this whole mess is that the republicans that Trump turns off, will be replaced by democrats that he turns on. Either way Hillary can not win. She must conger up more attacks against him.

But how clean is she? Uh oh. This is going to get nasty. It's all she has left. having Bill on the campaign trail has turned into a liability.

Maybe she should pick McCain as her running mate and DESTROY both parties.

Re: “Never Mind Donald Trump!

Mr. Nintzel,
You missed a relatively big story in John McCain's Republican primary. McCain's chosen Republican primary "Judas Goat" this time around (remember Deakins in 2010) is a one-man-print-shop owner from New Jersey named Alex Meluskey who defrauded 2 Precinct Committeemen (Edward and Christine Toschik) out of their seats in 2014 with a phony "ballot slate" he printed and distributed in Precinct 59 (LD 23) with a Republican logo on top. He then hired a known felon, Paul Thomas Burton as his Campaign Chair. PT Burton defrauded Republican Tea Party groups out of $50,000 (promising a Convention w/ national speakers at the Scottsdale Resort and fleeing with the money) from July to October 2015. Meluskey says he fired Burton, but cannot explain why he did not notify police when he "fired" Burton and why he will not refund the stolen money.

Most voters are becoming aware many Senate Primary campaigns are exercises in casual contempt for voters. Old timers like McCain know they can win reelection by diluting their primary opposition.
For instance, McCain allies like Senator Lindsey Graham “invest” millions to weaken State Primary opposition. Graham is a Director of McCain’s “Reform Institute Super PAC”. Graham’s “West Main Street Values PAC” and McCain’s “Reform Institute” have been exchanging secret campaign money for decades. And the generally unpopular Graham spent over two million to arrange 6 (SIX!) Republican decoys in his (2014) South Carolina Primary.
http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archiv…

Senate Frauds like McCain and Graham pay frauds like Alex Meluskey to deceive their own voters every 6 years. Meluskey has no money of his own according to Corporation Commission records in New Jersey and Arizona. But Meluskey has spent a half million on advertising according to his latest Federal Election Commission reports. No real source for the money is listed.
Tee shirts, signs, TV ads and resort conventions do not hurt McCain or Graham, but if they convince enough Republican voters that decoys like Meluskey are real candidates, the frauds will always win. McCain knows all he has to do is spend a few million smearing opponent (military wife) Kelli Ward and he will win the August Primary. So his Super PAC, AZ Grassroots Action PAC, buys millions of ads that accuse Ward (remember - she's a military wife) of voting to harm our military.
How stupid does McCain think Republican voters are? That might be a story in itself.

Re: “Never Mind Donald Trump!

Being relatively new to Tucson and state politics, this article offers no information re: candidate platforms. Perhaps a little more research on how these candidates intend to approach the job they're applying for...and any history of their follow through? Nice to see a mix of right/left readers here. I agree...decisions on local candidates and issues are very important. These are also the ones most of us know the least about. So, Mr Nintzel, help us out a little.

Re: “Stop the Presses!

Darn, the FBI will probably drop Supervisor Miller's request for investigation and that of her former boy-assistant and we will never know the real part she played in the fairyland tale of the Arizona Daily Herald now that editor in chief Timothy Desjarlais has quit his county job.

Love it, I looked for wagers in my note here on May 30th about how long Desjarlais would last, and the answer is: he quit his job at Miller's office; last Friday, June 10.

In over his head and with no adult supervision he can go forward with his campaign for the Marana School Board and if he is not successful there follow the current Republican County Chairman another unsuccessful GOP office seeker to glory leading the Republican County Party to Donald Trump's ground breaking for the "tall wall" paid for with the donated Mexican Peso.

Think about, "One flew over the cuckoos nest", where the insane inmates took over the insane asylum, Donald Trump, the original birther and his latest theory on President Obama's role in helping terrorist groups, Ally Miller's filling pot-holes with golden bricks and Timothy Desjarlais writing a new movie script for the Ally in Wonderland series.

Re: “Never Mind Donald Trump!

How did a political story expressly not about Donald Trump launch a comment thread that is entirely about Donald Trump and his opponent? For Dems, the Trump campaign might be hard to turn away from. But for many of us Republicans, it's hard to watch.

Most of this year's state and local elections aren't all that interesting, but at least they offer a diversion from the disaster that is our presidential race,

Re: “Never Mind Donald Trump!

During a Sept. 20 appearance on CBS’ Face the Nation, Clinton was asked if President Barack Obama’s plan to increase the number allowed into the United States to 10,000 was enough. (The United States had accepted about 2,000 in 2015.)

“Look, we’re facing the worst refugee crisis since the end of World War II, and I think the United States has to do more, and I would like to see us move from what is a good start with 10,000 to 65,000 and begin immediately to put into place the mechanisms for vetting the people that we would take in,” Clinton said.

“A jump to 65,000 would be a 550 percent increase,” Politifact says.

Re: “Never Mind Donald Trump!

Good Morning, Laurence -

Just wondering why you don't also detail Trump's involvement with Saudi Arabia and other mid-Eastern countries.

Here's some information you seem to have missed:

“some of (Trump's) more prominent deals and partnerships with Muslim individuals, governments, and companies that have buoyed the Trump brand over the years.” These business ventures involve Qatar Airways, which has had a “‘corporate campus’ in the Trump Tower … since at least 2008;” two Saudi princes who live in Trump Tower; Saudi Prince Alwaleed, who took “majority control of New York’s Plaza hotel, [which gave] Trump ‘more breathing room with bank creditors’” and purchased Trump’s $18 million yacht; the Trump International Golf Club in Dubai; and Trump Home partnerships in “Kuwait, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.” (From Media Matters)

And, by the way, the Republican-led committee that was investigating Benghazi has found no substance to the claim you made. They just gave up after spending $7 million of our taxpayer dollars.

You also post that "Hillary wants to bring in 500% more Syrian refugees..." First time I've read this. Do you have a source, other than Fox News, for this claim?

I'd appreciate it if you can provide a bit more substance to your outlandish claims.

Thanks...

Re: “Never Mind Donald Trump!

Donald Trump is a human being therefore imperfect.

Compared to Hillary Clinton he is almost perfect.

She resembles Obama as much as she thinks is necessary to get his support.

She lied about the 4 Benghazi victims she allowed to be murdered, wants to bring in 500 % more Syrian refugees in spite of warnings of ISIS infiltration, has no idea what to do to improve our economy, and has taken in millions from nations that hate us including $25 million from Saudi Arabia, the architects and pilots of 9/11.

Vote Donald Trump to keep America safe again.

John McCain is now owned by Donald Trump, Inc., who apparently is Lynn Anderson's favorite male chauvinist pig and misogynist?

Re: “Never Mind Donald Trump!

Your remarks about Donald Trump are ridiculous, unfounded and based on? A figment of your opinionated imagination, certainly not journalistic ability. He's the only one who will make America safe.

Re: “Hot in Hermosillo

Love Hermosillo...after visiting this great city that is full of life and culture many times, I just learned how beautiful it really is! Could not have written a better article! Thank you for the recognition and yes it is as safe as New York, L.A. & Tucson...

Re: “Hot in Hermosillo

Interesting that it's so difficult to get an honest answer to an honest question here. For the record, I love San Carlos and feel very safe there. Driving through Hermosillo, it doesn't seem nearly as safe, which is why I was curious to hear the real answer. Kudos to those of you who provided actual data and experiences, thank you.

Re: “Hot in Hermosillo

April 15, 2016 - US Department of State

The U.S. Department of State warns U.S. citizens about the risk of traveling to certain places in Mexico due to threats to safety and security posed by organized criminal groups in the country. U.S. citizens have been the victims of violent crimes, such as homicide, kidnapping, carjacking, and robbery by organized criminal groups in various Mexican states.

Sonora: Nogales, Puerto Peñasco, Hermosillo, and San Carlos are major cities/travel destinations in Sonora - Sonora is a key region in the international drug and human trafficking trades and can be extremely dangerous for travelers. Travelers throughout Sonora are encouraged to limit travel to main roads during daylight hours. Defer non-essential travel to the region west of Nogales, east of Sonoyta, and from Caborca north (including the towns of Saric, Tubutama, and Altar), and the eastern edge of Sonora bordering Chihuahua, as these are known centers of illegal activity. Travelers should also defer non-essential travel to the eastern edge of the state of Sonora, which borders the state of Chihuahua (all points along that border east of the northern city of Agua Prieta and the southern town of Alamos), and defer non-essential travel within the city of Ciudad Obregon and south of the city of Navojoa. You should exercise caution while transiting Vicam in southern Sonora due to roadblocks that can be instituted ad hoc by local indigenous and environmental groups. U.S. citizens visiting Puerto Peñasco should use the Lukeville, Arizona/Sonoyta, Sonora border crossing, and limit driving to daylight hours. Please see above for general conditions for travel in Mexico.

Re: “Hot in Hermosillo

105,000 kidnappings in Mexico in 2012, only 1800 reported. A lovely place.

Paradise for Tucson liberals who dream of Aztlan.

Re: “Hot in Hermosillo

Hermosillo, like most of Mexico now, is very dangerous. Read for yourself. If you're good with kidnappings, narco terrorists and a totally corrupt government where 80% of crimes aren't reported, have fun.

Re: “Hot in Hermosillo

Interesting and informative story by the Weakly's best journalist. I have driven through Hermosillo countless times without too much exploring. You have provided many good reasons to spend more time there discovering its positives, while not ignoring the negative (i.e., the government). Of course, any article on Mexico brings out the Trumpites in the comment section. Lets hope they stay home and leave the region for those who appreciate other cultures and people. Que linda Mexico!

Re: “Hot in Hermosillo

Democrats have told us they don't believe in walls to keep illegal immigrants and terrorists from entering our country.

http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/Wells-Fargo-Center-Xfinity-Live-to-Be-Inside-Perimeter-Secret-Service-Says-382433501.html

But they do believe in walls at their convention...to keep Americans out.

Re: “Hot in Hermosillo

Debbi T you are partially right, but there is no wall there yet. The wall will be built along the northern border between Mexico and the US. Assumptions are that it will be similar to the wall on Mexico's southern border. Mexico is trying to stop the flow of illegal entrants from Central America. I am not implying they are racist but they do not want these people coming through their borders regardless of where they are headed. The politicians have promised to keep the southern border safe for their citizens.

Re: “Hot in Hermosillo

DEBBIE T this ignorant says that hermosillenses "climb their walls", No, we don't. It's a very known fact that we have a US consulate here in Hermosillo and is very, very common for us to have a Visa. Most of Hermosillenses visit US legally.

Where do you think all those weekend shoppers in Tucson come from? Yes, Sonora.

Have a nice weekend you ignorant Trump supporter :)
