Filter is technically a two-hit wonder. Take a Picture, with its annoying refrain of "There goes my aeroplane", was actually a bigger hit than Hey Man, Nice Shot.
Really interesting Stephen, thanks!
I think that you would be really interested in some recent research that I have come across about crowds and citizen science.
It’s called “The Theory of Crowd Capital” and you can download it here if you’re interested: http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abs…
Really powerful stuff!
I heard Doo Rag is reforming for this.
Primus is one of the most original and talented hard rock bands that exist. Within their sound one can find a great mixture of funk, absurdity and a quirky sense of humour that musically & lyrically remind me a lot of the late & great musical genius Frank Zappa. It's a shame that Mr. Seigel doesn't much care for them; but I guess when a person can settle for the dreck an "artist" like Daniel Johnston performs, the music from Primus must come across as very complicated.
The 'CSI show with Chris O'Donnell' is actually 'NCIS Los Angeles' and has nothing to do with CSI other than sharing some letters.
Sounds like a lot of fun, Stephen. Is there a place we can see which musicians are playing at the SXSW Tucson showcase?
Can you guys re-format the Bandwagon section so it's easier to read? Either chronological or at least performers on the left and venue on the right? it's one of the most useful sections of the whole website IMO, deserves better presentation Thank you!
I *still* want to know what that was. :-) I can't wait for My Jerusalem again tonight. So glad they're coming back to town...
If you'd like to hear "Souvenirs" by In Repair, go to:
I've never heard it, Dylan. Based on your comment, I trust it's worth seeking out?
How can you give the gatefold glory of Stomu Yamashta's Go: Live from Paris such an oblique reference?
Yes, bad timing to dip out as Grunge was peaking into an inertia for the next decade; And for whatever reason, the band went sideways;
Say hi to Rich, my grand-mom grew dope (good "kindbud" before they called it "kind" bud with Steve-O) at ERL; Thanks
Can't wait for Rock For A Cure!!!
Copper and Congress....another breathy off key female singer. Just what we needed.
Sorry. Nice try.
I caught them live at the Tucson Garden in '89. Don't remember much from that show, just that they were great live. It would be cool see them again. Might have to go to this one.
I didn't know him as Bill Wooldridge, but as Patch. He was the friendly guy in the part of our West University neighborhood that is populated by musicians. He quickly became a good friend to our family. Patch will be missed by so many people. A true loss in for the Tucson music scene, and anyone who thinks that reaching out to kids is how we should spend our lives.
Very nice! 3 great nights of music and 3 great causes!
Since when is there 3 veteran members of the Commodores? Last I seen then it was 2 Walter Orange and William King. Unless your talking Lionel's replacement as a veteran? Whats his name?
