Re: “Local Albums of the Year

Ditto regarding Esquer's "The Girl". Also Katie Haverly's "Pluto" and the Walbank/Sherman collaboration, "Searching the Desert for the Blues" are notable. I'm sure I'm missing others as 2018 was a good year in Tucson music. It would be nice to know of all the releases considered as I'm still learning what's out there. Love to see more comments in this regard too.

Re: “Know Your Product

She has incredible vocals. It is a pity there is no opportunity to see it live.

Natalia, my sincere apologies for my mistake. It was not intentional.

Re: “Revolution Solutions

Hello, Im Natalia Clavier. Born and raised in Argentina. Thanks for your kind words. My first language is Spanish and although I speak and sing in Portuguese, the song Water Under The Bridge is in English and Spanish, not Portuguese.

Re: “Love as Part of the Whole

Leave it to Tucson to pick a headliner nobody's heard of. I guess we can't do any better in this small town.

I recently found out James "Sonny" Peters claimed my black Les Paul was one stolen from him or a high school, Sonny I Mitchell Deliman am publicly calling you out as a liar. Get some serial numbers and some proof and think before you speak. Sonny is a small minded liar.

Re: “A SpudBoy Picks His 10 Favorite Devo Songs

I can't say I totally agree with you, but these are some of my very top favorites, and I wouldn't give them up for any amount of money.
I don't recall 5. Booji Boy's Funeral/Hardcore Devo Volume 2 - but since your right-on with the others, I'll be looking for it and listening to it, and there'll be a 99.9% chance I'll be adding to my collection.

Re: “Know Your Product

Great article. Now I have to go out and buy two of the five albums that influenced Eric. I am not familiar with Ryan Adams work, but I soon will be. Do yourself a favor and buy both of Eric's albums, you will not be disappointed. They are great companions on a road trip.

Re: “Vintage Vinyl

I remember very well The Poppies when I was on the air at KIKX and KTKT. Incredible band that I heard many, many times, especially at The Dunes!

Re: “XOXO...

Thank you for sharing George's passing here - I hate the idea of having not known.

I'm typing this from a bar down the street from the where the Grill used to stand and where I used to bartend the weekday shift when George would come in to play for so many years, so many years ago.
His playing was soulful, exuberant, charged and full of the pathos that, I think, defined the community of artists here at that time: the rest of us were and remain lucky and grateful witnesses. George carried with him a sincere and immense capacity for feeling and expression - it shone in his eyes and in his music. I am profoundly grateful to have known George and to have heard his playing on so many quiet nights in downtown Tucson. Hy heart goes out to him and to his beloved Victoria, his often-acknowledged anchor and light.

Re: “For Your Love

I recommend Smokestack Lightening nothing like the H.Wolf original, but aside from the best harmonica solo ever (Kieth Reef).(sp?) this tune demonstrates exactly how the UK took American Blues to a new level. Thanks guys.
