Re: “Claytoon of the Day: Hate Your Face

Hatred and anger?

How foolish of you to assume that when I'm laughing I'm experiencing hatred and anger. You tRump cultists are hilarious! I laugh at anyone who constantly has the facts thrown in their face and they just outright refuse to believe it; yet shit like "Pizzagate" and "Obama's a Kenyan" are the real deal to tRump loving losers. Yes, I typed losers, although I am aware "K.A.G." & "Ophelia" is the same sad individual attempting to boost numbers by adapting a different username every time he/she posts a comment. Talk about pathetic sock-puppetry!

Keep on posting 'em Ophelia MAGA KAG Trump 2020 clown. I promise it will create humour and laughter for me, not the hatred and anger built up in you which you have attempted to project on to me.

Ophelia:

When you say "the Master", do you actually mean tRump?

HAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHA!

Your comment is the most foolish one I've read in quite some time. You must be dosing the orange kool-aid straight from a PIV line.

Thank You for the best laugh I've had all day!

Re: “Claytoon of the Day: Barr Chokes Justice

How about this: Barr intervened to stop the Justice Department's federal prosecution of the NYPD officer who applied the chokehold to kill Eric Garner. Hence the very appropriate Claytoon.

Re: “Tucson Salvage

Losers. Yes. If you notice a running theme, their troubles start when their own fucked up families can't care for them anymore. Love them, sometimes. Care for them, no. And the cycle continues. So a challenge for you all. If you'd like to rid the world of all the adult losers who we all despise, mock and judge, just take a moment to not shit on the kids in our society. No matter how gross and mean they seem to you. Don't shit on them. Help them out the next you're voting for funding for mental health care, school services, food banks, Planned Parenthood, drug programs or just not being a shit in general. Don't do it for them. Do it for yourself so you won't have to even think of all those losers anymore.

Re: “Tucson Salvage

I appreciate careful and critical examination of the intention behind art and journalism, but, Human Bean, I do not agree with your deductions in this case.

Are you really comparing the life stories of disenfranchised persons to abandoned houses and judging their experiences to be unilateral disasters?
Is presenting a humans positive assets alongside their more obvious flaws really fetishizing them?

And if a column like Tucson Salvage cannot or should not in your mind profile such individuals, then who will? Is it better (perhaps more convenient?) they remain transparent, out of the publics conscience, sight and mind?

As to the author using first person, I understand it to be his way of leveling the playing field, hopefully sidestepping pity or accidentally evoking the dreaded other.

I welcome and anticipate your thoughtful response.

If the tribe paid for it with federal funding, you and I paid for it. So that some scum politician could get donations.

Re: “Tucson Salvage

This is starting to feel like disaster porn. It's one thing to shine a light on the darker recesses within our city and local culture, but it's another entirely different thing to fetishize it. Just like photographers who make a living documenting the destroyed lives of people after hurricanes or abandoned buildings in Detroit, one has to ask; at what point is the attempt to shine the light on the unseen overcome by the photographer or writers need to gain personal notoriety? Brian's continual injection of himself into these stories reveals a narcissistic edge to his motivation. At first I wanted these stories to be something meaningful but now I just think it's Brian is hitching his success to the misery of others.

Re: “Claytoon of the Day: Barr Chokes Justice

Allow me to answer my own question. If you listen to the fake news media, Barr is in Trump's back pocket. That's enough for Bozos like Clay Jones to accuse him of something he had nothing to do with.

Re: “Tucson Salvage

I don't know why you glorify these losers. Who do you think you are? Hunter Thompson? Jack Kerouac? These are LOSERS. Society's flotsam and jetsam that has existed since the beginning of time. They have never contributed anything to society except to give Hemingway wanna-bees like you something edgy to write about. And these losers always seem to be able to come up with the money to get tattoos. I have never understood that. Maybe you can explain it.

Re: “Hard Lessons

Let's not blame it all on corporate/capitalist greed. Remember the Health Care deductibles you spoke of? They were caused by the ACA and the government's inability to halt out of control spending.

Wait until you see what they do to Medicare to get you to swallow that pill. Better pick up another job in the summer.

The ACA was authored by those over paid government officials you identified. And they conspired to bankrupt our corporate health care system. They are pretty good at it.

What did Barr have to do with N.Y.P.D incident that happened 5 years ago?

Re: “Hard Lessons

Excellent article. However, what is extremely crucial to explore is how teachers don't live in a vacuum; although we feel like we do because the responsibilities of a compassionate teacher-like our summer monsoon thunderstorm winds-are just so overwhelming. As working class people-who happen to be among the most highly educated of all professionals-we must also contend with the health care crisis. I know firsthand that the so-called "pay raise" from the Red for Ed movement has been totally erased by my having to pay escalating health care insurance "deductibles." These "health insurance co-payments" have actually set me back in terms of annual salary! So the AZ state government along with their collaborating, self-serving local school administrators (whom often "make" from 80, 90, to 100 K+ a year) have effectively employed "smoke and mirror" tactics to take money from my left pocket, and tout how much they are putting into my back pocket, all the while taking even more from my right pocket! It's a classic "shakedown"; a game of give and take, with most politicians and their corporate puppet-masters, and Pontius Pilate "there's nothing I can do about it-it is government policy" administrators taking, and all the rest of us giving. The most profound tragedy is that poor hungry children in Arizona are compelled to eat the rotten fruit of our cynical, corrupt and criminal political and economic system. It is a slithering, embracing old vine-of-a system that is smothering and choking the life out of our public schools. It is an evil and reactionary killer-weed; the seed of which is a culture that rewards glorified selfishness and corporate/capitalist greed.
