The Sonoran Cannabis Expo, held at the MSA annex from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 20, will be an afternoon filled with good vibes, live music ad cannabis samples from local vendors.

As Arizona celebrates its fourth year of adult-use cannabis, this year’s 420 festivities are growing right along with the plant’s popularity.

Held at the MSA Annex from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 20, for anyone 21 and over, the Sonoran Cannabis Expo will be an afternoon filled with good vibes, live music and cannabis samples from local vendors.

According to organizer Matt Baquet, the Sonoran Cannabis Expo offers a thoughtful celebration for Tucson’s cannabis community. Chill and professional, the Sonoran Cannabis Expo is a cannabis networking event and 420 celebration.

Fifteen local and national cannabis vendors — and fan-favorite brands like Jeeter, 1X1 Exotics, Lush and Varz — will be present.

Vendors will offer guests ways to grow cannabis, unwind and chat with experts. Attendees will be treated to the ultimate 420 experience: medicated samples, decadent munchies and performances by Tucson’s Oms, DJ Posi and Hey, Bucko! Last year, the Sonoran Cannabis Expo hosted the concert and the event separately.

“This year, we’re really leaning into local music,” Baquet said.

“Because we’re doing the music during the expo, we want it to be like you can either tune in or tune out. You just have a really dope soundtrack to whatever you’re doing.”

When the munchies hit, enjoy food from local vendors like Mafia Kitchen, Fiesta Filipino, Substance Diner, Sexy Grilled Cheese and Muncheez.

Building and celebrating community is essential in allowing the Sonoran Cannabis Expo to thrive. The event serves as the glue holding those folks together.

“We found our lane in the cannabis industry by doing that,” Baquet explained.

And while medicated samples will be available for attendees, Bacquet notes that safety and respect are a priority.

“We move with respect,” he said. “We have an EMT on-site, and we make sure that everyone who comes in knows what they’re getting into and signs necessary waivers. We really take all the necessary steps to keep this contained and also keep everyone safe and respected.”

But it’s not just about getting high. Sonoran Cannabis Expo will also provide resources for individuals looking to expunge previous cannabis violations from their record, courtesy of Thrush Law Group.

“If we’re getting past this stage of legalizing cannabis, we want to kind of start pushing to normalize it,” Baquet noted.
