In a country full of superstores, farmers' markets provide a much-needed opportunity for people to meet farmers and buy locally raised meats and produce. The markets at St. Philip's Plaza are no exception. Come Saturday morning, and choose from a wide variety of goodies like kettle corn, tortillas, coffees and spices. Or stop by on Sunday, when the market bustles with vendors selling everything from farm-raised chickens and homemade tamales, to heirloom tomatoes and roasted veggies. You can also sample unique delights like strawberry-lavender preserves and prickly pear popsicles. As you stroll, be sure to stop and listen to the cowboy strumming tunes on his steel guitar.
