Tanque Verde Falls is only about a 1.8-mile hike, but what makes it moderate is that there are some steep climbing parts now and then. What makes it totally awesome is that, if you play your cards right and go between March and October when the water from monsoons is still around, there's a beautiful pool to go swimming in at the end of the trail, with plenty of different-level jumping off points around—the perfect place for a picnic and a dip. And if there's no water, it's still the perfect place for a picnic.
