STAFF PICK: It's hard to find a real socialist these days, someone who's a liberal's liberal and stands for government as a coddler, parent-protector and deep pocket. But the Democrat from District 11, Sen. Peter Goudinoff, meets the mark splendidly. Goudinoff's a perfect counter-balance to the right-wing hate-mongers in the state Senate; he can out-debate and out-procedure any wack in sight. You'll only have one more session to see him in action because he's retiring next year after almost two decades in the Legislature.
