Best Moment In The Arizona Legislature
STAFF PICK: Oh, but there were so many memorable moments, like when our lawmakers voted to secede from the Union. Or when we passed the Veggie Hate Crimes bill. Or when Mesa Rep. Jeff Groscost suggested we put a bounty on wolves. But our personal favorite moment came when lawmakers passed a bill legalizing the production of freon in our state. Hey, CFCs are banned across the globe as part of the Montreal Protocol, but are we going to let a little something like an international treaty stand in our way of luring economic development to the Grand Canyon state? Heck, no. We're not scared of destroying the ozone layer--it'll let us share a little more of that Arizona sunshine with the rest of the world.
