First Ave. Opening September 10 and continuing through September 28: Always...Patsy Cline, based on the true story of Patsy Cline's friendship with Houston housewife Louise Seger. Special sneak-preview benefit performance for the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation is 8 p.m. Friday, September 5. Tickets are available through SAAF, at 322-6226. Preview performances are at 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, September 8 and 9. Regular performances are 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. ATC GALA CELEBRATION. Temple of Music and Art. 330 S. Scott Ave. 884-4875. The Arizona Theatre Company celebrates its 31st season with its annual Gala Celebration on Saturday, September 20. ATC honors Sally and Clague Van Slyke for their continued dedication to the Arizona Theatre Company, in addition to celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Temple of Music and Art. The evening begins with a wine reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by the opening night performance of the Noel Coward comedy Blithe Spirit. After the performance, a buffet dinner will be served by B&B Café, with dancing under the stars to follow. Tickets are $150, with corporate tables also available.
