ARIZONA REPERTORY THEATRE. UA Laboratory Theatre, southeast corner of Park Avenue and Speedway. Opening September 3 and continuing through September 21: Arsenic and Old Lace. Preview performance is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 2. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with matiness at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Listings ARIZONA YOUTH THEATRE. 5671 E. Speedway. 546-9805. Opening August 29 and continuing through October 4: Jungle Book. Performances are 8 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m., 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday. Production is most appropriate for ages 4 and up. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children, with free tickets available to non-profit organizations. Call 546-9805 for reservations and information.

BORDERLANDS THEATER. PCC Black Box Theater. 2202 W. Anklam Road. 884-6986. Continuing through September 7: The Waiting Room, a critical look at ways various cultures eroticize women's bodies. Performances are at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, with a 2 o'clock Sunday matinee. Tickets range from $6 to $12, available at Antigone Books, the Borderlands Theater Office, Yoly's Music Shop, and the PCC West Campus cashier. Call 882-7406 for tickets and information.

GASLIGHT THEATRE. 7010 E. Broadway. 886-9428. Continuing through November 1: The Sheik, a romantic fantasy. Performances are at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 3 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $12.95, $10.95 for seniors/students/active military, and $6 for children. ACTORS SHOWCASE. 7000 E. Tanque Verde Road. The Actors' Agency/An Actor's Studio presents its annual Actors' Showcase at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, September 4 and 5. The showcase features scenes from movie scripts performed by actors represented by the agency. Call 721-9582 for information.

ATC GALA CELEBRATION. Temple of Music and Art. 330 S. Scott Ave. 884-4875. The Arizona Theatre Company celebrates its 31st season with its annual Gala Celebration on Saturday, September 20. ATC honors Sally and Clague Van Slyke for their continued dedication to the Arizona Theatre Company, in addition to celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Temple of Music and Art. The evening begins with a wine reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by the opening night performance of the Noel Coward comedy Blithe Spirit. After the performance, a buffet dinner will be served by B&B Café, with dancing under the stars to follow. Tickets are $150, with corporate tables also available. AUDITION NOTICE. The critically acclaimed performance group Bloodhut announces auditions for its next original project, Only Skin Deep. Bloodhut seeks diverse voices of women who write and/or writers who perform. Women of color are especially encouraged to participate. Auditions will be in September.
