CALL FOR ENTRIES. Sparrowgrass Poetry Forum is accepting entries for its Distinguished Poet Awards. Thirty-four cash prizes are offered, including a $1,000 grand prize. Enter one poem only, 20 lines or less, on any subject and in any style. Deadline for entries is January 31, 1997. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS. 520 Helen seeks submissions of poetry, short fiction, essay and photography for its premiere issue. The staff at 520 Helen wants to provide committed writers and photographers with an unrestrictive forum for publishing their works. Poetry submissions should be no longer than seven pages; photography submissions limited to four, and short fiction and essays not to exceed 4,000 words. Include SASE for submissions to be returned. ONE ON ONE. University of Arizona Poetry Center. 1216 N. Cherry Ave. The Writers' New Voice and Range presents stylized instruction encouraging one-on-one consultations which pairi established local writers with emerging community writers of fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. Program continues through June 1997. Consultees are automatically eligible for a free visit to the Voice and Range Writers' Workshop. Sliding fee, discounts and waivers are available. TUCSON POETRY FESTIVAL. Submissions are now being accepted for the 14th annual Statewide Poetry Contest sponsored by the Tucson Poetry Festival Committee and The Tucson Weekly. The contest winner will be a featured reader at the Tucson Poetry Festival and receive $150. Second and Third Place winners each receive $50. Selected poems by all winners will be published in The Weekly in February. Contest is open to all Arizona poets who have not published a full-length collection of their work, though published poems are acceptable.
