ART CONGRESS. The annual Arizona Arts Congress will meet on Thursday, January 23, at the Historic State Capitol, 1700 W. Washington in Phoenix. The Congress gives arts advocates from every legislative district the opportunity to meet with legislators and hear about the current status of state arts funding and art education. CALL TO ARTISTS. The PCC West Campus Art Gallery seeks artists working in all media who wish to exhibit work during the 1997-1998 school year. Works by two to four artists are usually exhibited for four week periods, and the college generally does the printing and mailing of an announcement and provides some refreshments for the opening. CALL TO ARTISTS. The Tucson/Pima Arts Council seeks artists proposals for a $27,500 commission to create public art projects as part of the Downtown Pedestrian Implementation Plan. Artists' proposals must address the pre-selected demonstration sites: Church Street Crossing, between the old Pima County Courthouse and the Main Public Library; Scott Avenue, between Pennington Street and Congress Street; and the 10th Street Plaza, between the Ronstadt Transit Center and Fifth Avenue. The selected artist(s) will work within the theme Focus on the Public Art Mosiac, but artwork is not limited to tile or traditional mosaic media.
