Listings ALTERNATE ROUTES '99. UA Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Building, Room 202. Local novelist and poet Demetria Martinez presents a variety of satirical and humorous short films produced by women on Thursday, June 17. Women, Identity and Borders starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

ANTIQUE SEMINAR. The Forum. 2500 N. Rosemont. Ginger Jackson Carter presents a free antique seminar and evaluation from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 17.

BICAS. 44 W. Sixth St. BICAS offers the build-a-bike program for all. Take part in the eight-session course and fix up old bikes for the community. Classes are ongoing. Cost ranges from $15 to $60. Call 628-7950 for information.

DOWNTOWN SATURDAY. Access Tucson celebrates their 15th anniversary from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at 124 E. Broadway Blvd. on June 19. Listen to calypso, reggae, samba and more between 7 and 10 p.m. at the Ronstadt Transit Center, Sixth Avenue and Congress Street. Michael Whinery plays the bagpipes from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Arizona Avenue south of Congress Street. Stroll down to the Fifth Street Stage on Fourth Avenue (in front of Magpies) for John Grant and Erix Guitar from 7 to 10 p.m. Stop by Winsett Park, between Seventh and Eighth streets, to listen to the Long Rain from 7 to 10 p.m.

EL DIA DE SAN JUAN. Celebrate the birthday of St. John the Baptist and the arrival of the monsoon season with games, food and local music from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 24 on the southside of West Congress St. at the Santa Cruz River. Call 791-4040 for information.

FAMILY BARBECUE. The Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club welcomes the public to join its members on Friday evenings for family barbecues all summer. Enjoy the Club's parklike grounds from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 4001 N. Country Club Road. Call 795-6960 for information.

FARMERS' MARKETS. Two Farmers' Markets take place on the weekend: From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, vendors sell fresh produce, teas, honey, jams, lemon curd and natural beef at Park Mall, 5870 E. Broadway Blvd.; and from 7 a.m. to noon Sundays, more than 20 vendors hawk similar wares and treats at St. Philip's Plaza, at River Road and Campbell Avenue.

FATHER'S DAY FUNDRAISER. Cottonwood Cafe. 60 N. Alvernon Way. Ballet Folklorico la Paloma presents a Father's Day fundraiser with live entertainment from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 20. Call 326-6000 for reservations and enjoy an entertaining lunch with proceeds helping to send a Tucson representative to the Olympics 2000.

FILM FESTIVAL. St. Mark's Presbyterian Church. Calvin Hall. 3809 E. Third St. St. Mark's Presbyterian Church presents four films for viewing and discussion as part of their Race and the Church dialogue. The fourth film is Amistad at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23.

FLANDRAU SCIENCE CENTER. UA campus. 621-STAR. The June shows are: In Search of New Worlds, Under Arizona Skies, Adventures in the Solar System, Our Place in Space and Light Years from Andromeda. Exhibit admission is $3, $2 for children 14 and under, or free with a theater ticket purchase. Telescope viewing is free. Daytime exhibit hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday; evening hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. MILLENNIUM MADNESS. St Philip's Plaza. Clean out your closet and help a good cause from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 18 and 19. The Tucson Shalom House is accepting donations of business attire for women and men, and clothing for children. Discount tickets for various stores in the Plaza are given for each article of clothing donated.

POOL PARTY. The Parks and Recreation Department sponsors Friday teen pool parties from 7:30 to 11 p.m. and Saturday family pool parties from 7 to 10 p.m. Both parties this week are at El Pueblo and Fort Lowell parks. Call 791-4245 for information.

VALLEY OF THE MOON. 2544 E. Allen Road. 323-1331. Meet the enchanting creatures of the Valley of the Moon on a Quest for the Golden Key on Friday and Saturday, June 18 and 19. The fantasy tours leave the gate every 30 minutes from 7:45 to 9:45 p.m. Take a cool, evening "Moon Stroll" through the pathways, caverns, pools and gardens of the Valley of the Moon on June 23. The Valley is open from 7 to 9 p.m. with donations accepted for the restoration and maintenance of the property.
