PHANTOM GALLERY. Various downtown locations. The pervasive impact of birds on people is the theme of Marian Leone Kozachik's acrylic paintings on display at 38 E. Congress St. Terra-cotta sculpture by Martin Martinez is on display at 221 N. Court Ave. Lillian Kinslow's "Egg-Topia," stoneware and porcelain images playing off the power of the egg, takes over 221 S. Church Ave., in La Placita Village. ANNUAL QUILT SHOW. Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park is the site of the second annual juried quilt show and contest, featuring a first-ever botanical quilt theme. Artisans throughout Arizona display their crafts from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday, January 10 through 12, in the Interpretive Center and Lecture Room. CALL TO ARTISTS. The Tucson/Pima Arts Council seeks artists proposals for a $27,500 commission to create public art projects as part of the Downtown Pedestrian Implementation Plan. Artists' proposals must address the pre-selected demonstration sites: Church Street Crossing, between the old Pima County Courthouse and the Main Public Library; Scott Avenue, between Pennington Street and Congress Street; and the 10th Street Plaza, between the Ronstadt Transit Center and Fifth Avenue. The selected artist(s) will work within the theme Focus on the Public Art Mosiac, but artwork is not limited to tile or traditional mosaic media.
