Sure, there’s a lot of great stuff in this week’s issue, including what I think is a great cover story by Todd Miller, but probably my favorite item is a small ad in the classified, placed by Congress’ legendary bartender, Tiger, following his 80th birthday celebration.
The text, in case the image above isn’t working for you:
THANK YOU!
Thanks to all the Hotel Congress employees, managers and the owners Richard and Shana Oseran, and a special thanks to all my customers at The Tap Room for celebrating my 80th birthday. Tiger

The image works fine, I just don’t understand why someone felt the need to make me tilt my head 90 degrees to the left.
AZ/DC: Ah, weird. I’ll fix it.
Tiger is drunk
The Weekly is out of touch if they think the vote on Plan Tucson is a snoozer. They must have missed the heated meeting of the Planning Commission on 4/22. KVOA covered it. The Planning Commission voted 7-3 NOT to recommend the Plan to the Mayor and Council. We’ll see what happens at the meeting on 6/11. You all missed a hot issue.
Sorry, the contentious Planning Commission meeting was 5/22 not 4/22.
