One performance only, Thursday, October 17: Richard Einhorn's new opera/oratorio Voices of Light, presented with Carl Dreyer's acclaimed silent film, The Passion of Joan of Arc. There will be a free performances of medieval chants beginning at 6:45 p.m. by the Desert Voices choral group. UA REPERTORY THEATRE. UA Fine Arts Complex Maroney Theatre, south end of the pedestrian underpass on Speedway east of Park Avenue. The Arizona Repertory Theatre presents The Entertainers: Over The Rainbow--The Music of Harold Arlen, a celebration of the musical contributions of one of America's finest theatrical composers. Preview performances are at 7:30 p.m. October 20, and 8 p.m. October 22. Regular performances are at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, with 2 o'clock matinees on October 27, November 2 and 3. ATTENTION PLAYWRIGHTS. The Arizona Theatre Company, in association with El Centro Cultural Mexicano de Phoenix, announces the third annual National Hispanic Playwrighting Contest. Contest is open to all Hispanic playwrights currently residing in the United States, its territories and Mexico. Full length or one-act unpublished plays, or scripts which have received workshops and/or readings are also eligible. The winner will receive $1,000 and will be considered for ATC's GENESIS: New Play Reading Series. Call 884-8210 for a detailed copy of contest guidelines. Submission deadline is December 1.

AUDITION NOTICE. Borderlands Theatre Company seeks actors and singers for A Tucson Pastorela, by Max Branscomb. Auditions are from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 19, at the PCC Center for the Arts Black Box Theatre, 2202 W. Anklam Road. All levels of experience are welcomed.
