Best Harbinger Of Fall

STAFF PICK: Step out of the climate protection of your air-conditioned car and your nose is immediately assaulted by a searing smell on the air. But wait, summer's almost over--it can't still be the sensation of heat singeing your nose hairs. Ah, then you detect the sweet scent of roasting chile peppers. All over town--even in ABCO parking lots--roasters tumble while people make plans for green corn tamales, birria and red chile burros. The chiles are roasting and fall's in the air.
