Best Local Female Author In A Non-Traditional Role

STAFF PICK: How many women writers do you know who can write both a western and a war story? Try Sinclair Browning a.k.a. Zeke. She can play with the boys, leaving many of them in the dust. Enju, a few years back, was an under-rated first novel about just how badly we screwed over the Apaches right here in Pima County. Her latest novel, America's Best, puts her in the same league with what will probably be some nervous macho guys. And many real men, including lots of combat veterans, have reponded to her latest efforts with multiple accolades. Her Lyons on Horses has sold a respectable 50,000 copies and is in its ninth printing. Watch her: She'll go a long way.
