COMMUNITY THEATRE. Tucson Parks and Recreation Performing Arts auditorium. 200 S. Alvernon Way. Experience Shakespeare as you never have before at the Cirque de Shakespeare. Tightrope walker Zanuck the Daring, Stromboli, the strongest man in the world, and other amazing characters perform works by the famous bard. SAN FRANCISCO MIME TROUPE. PCC West Campus Proscenium Theatre. 2202 W. Anklam Road. The San Francisco Mime Troupe, in association with Borderlands Theater, presents 13 Días/13 Days: How the Zapatistas Shook the World, a look at the turbulent first 13 days of the 1994 Chiapas uprising in Mexico. ARIZONA YOUTH THEATER. 5526 E. 22nd St. 790-0844. Continuing through December 21: Alice in Wonderland. This entertaining children's classic is appropriate for audiences ages four and up. CALL TO PLAYWRIGHTS. The Arizona Theatre Company, in association with El Centro Cultural Mexicano de Phoenix, announces the third annual National Hispanic Playwrighting Contest. Contest is open to all Hispanic playwrights currently residing in the United States, its territories and Mexico. Full-length and one-act unpublished plays, and scripts which have received workshops and/or readings, are eligible. The winner will receive $1,000 and be considered for ATC's GENESIS: New Play Reading Series. Call 884-8210 for a detailed copy of contest guidelines. Submission deadline is December 1.

AUDIO DESCRIBERS. The Arizona Theatre Company and Third Street Kids seek audio describers to narrate live performances to patrons with visual impairments. Auditions for prospective narrators are on Friday and Saturday, November 1 and 2. Call Third Street Kids at 622-4100 for an appointment.
