PERMACULTURE INSTITUTE. Brad Lancaster gives an empowering talk and slide presentation, The Permaculture Approach To Sustainability, on working with nature as a means to a common-sense path to creating food forests, lower utility bills, regenerated springs and healthier communities. The talk begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 20, at the Pima Friends Meeting House, 931 N. Fifth Ave. The Permaculture Drylands Institute also has a monthly, fun-filled discussion of sustainable living in drylands. They meet the second Tuesday of each month for a community breakfast at 7 a.m. at the Grill, 100 E. Congress St. Call 572-1672 for information.
