SANDSCRIPT. The public is invited to attend the unveiling of the 1995/96 publication of SandScript literary/art magazine at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at the PCC Center for the Arts, 2202 W. Anklam Road. There are award presentations, author readings and refreshments.

LAMPLIGHT READING. The next Lamplight Reading series convenes at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at the Sunnyside High School Auditorium, 1725 E. Bilby Road. This month's meeting features high school state poetry winners, Tucson Poetry Festival winners, playwrights and more from Sunnyside and Desert View High Schools. All creative writing enthusiasts are encouraged to attend. Admission is free, but donations will go the Creative Writing Programs at both high schools. ONLINE JOURNAL. The UA Writing Works Center seeks submissions of poetry, short fiction and essays for its inaugural issue of AZine, an online literary journal. Submissions should be limited as follows: poetry, no more than seven pages; short fiction and essays, no longer than 4,000 words. Deadline is June 1. CALL FOR ENTRIES. Burning Car Magazine seeks literary and camera-ready art submissions for its virgin edition scheduled for publication this summer. The first issue will launch the inaugural Heinous Payne Award for outstanding work. First prize is $300, $200 for second. SPARROWGRASS POETRY. Sparrowgrass Poetry is offering a grand prize of $500 for the Distinguished Poet Awards poetry contest.
