The following performances are scheduled this week: master's recital by percussionist Cynthia Barlow at 3 p.m. Friday, April 26; horn class recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28, followed by pianist Estibaliz Gastesi at 8 p.m.; guitar area recital at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29; and a cello studio recital at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30. Mezzo-soprano Karen Clark, tenor Harlan Hokin, Christina Jarvis, Jeffri Sanders and the women of the Jubilus Singers present a program based on Gregorian chant at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28. MARIACHI CONFERENCE. The 14th annual Tucson International Mariachi Conference continues through Saturday, April 27, at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave. The event features workshops, mariachi showcases, competitions, artisan exhibits and two "Espectacular" concerts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in the TCC Arena. MASS PREMIERE. St. Thomas the Apostle Church. 5150 N. Valley View Road. Composer David Maslanka's Mass is presented publicly for the first time at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30. Performers include UA faculty soloists Faye Robinson and Charles Roe, the UA Wind Ensemble, UA Chamber Choir, UA Symphonic Choir, Tucson Boys Chorus and organist Jane Smith. MOVEABLE MUSICAL FEAST. Join the Tucson Symphony Orchestra for its final Moveable Musical Feast of the season on Saturday, April 27 , at the Arizona Inn, 2200 E. Elm St. Cocktails are served at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and performances by the Flute and String Trio and the Brass Quintet. Dinner will be served under the stars on the main lawn. YOUTH ORCHESTRA BENEFIT. ZYDECO QUEEN. Queen Ida and the Bon Temps (Good Times) Zydeco Band return to Tucson with a high-energy show Saturday, April 27, at St. Philip's Plaza, 4300 N. Campbell Ave. Tucson's own Hal Jackson and Bass Culture open the show with a reggae rave at 8 p.m. Gates open at 7 p.m. Food and beverages from area restaurants will be available for purchase. CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS. The Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association is looking for volunteers for the 11th annual Tucson Folk Festival, scheduled for May 4 and 5, at El Presidio Park in downtown Tucson.
