Tedski reports that the mysterious mailer smearing Kelle Maslyn in the ongoing election for Marana Town Council has been traced back to National Republican Committeman Bruce Ash.
The mailer, sent by People for An Independent Marana, accuses Maslyn of taking too many campaign contributions from people outside Marana. Ash lives, as Tedski points out, in Tucson Country Club, far from the Marana town limits. Between the hypocrisy of the piece and the likelihood that Ash violated campaign finance regs to hide his identity for as long as possible, we can only say: What a sleazy maneuver. You’re really going to turn the GOP’s image around with that kind of stunt, Bruce. Can’t wait to hear your next nauseating, self-righteous lecture on the radio.
The real aim here: Maslyn is bright, young Democrat and Ash is determined to smother her in the political crib.

I realize it is fair game for political pundits such as yourself and Tedski to somehow suggest it is evil to live in Tucson CC Estates.
But let me assure you this is just as nice a place to live as yours or Tedski’s neighborhoods. I should point out to you that technically I don’t live in the City of Tucson either being that TCCE is about 150 yards outside of the political boundary of Tucson.
Isn’t demonizing people who live in a certain part of our hometown getting a bit tired? I know where you live — does that make your home address subject to either identification or demonization from me? Frankly, it is a bit creepy sounding.
What IS important to point out is that I own a small business in Marana. So I deal with the Town of Marana and I definitely have STANDING to be concerned about what happens there in the future. This was the sole reason I formed People For An Independent Marana.
I believe that when voters in Marana perform their due diligence about Kelle Maslyn they will be concerned as I am about her endorsements–Rodney Glassman, Karin Uhlich, Ramon Valadez & Sharon Bronson. These are some of the people who have wrecked the City of Tucson.
I hope voters in Marana will ask the question why the Pima democrat party and a pro abortion group is so interested in Maslyn’s race they have funded nearly 1/3 of her total contributions into a NON PARTISAN election in a relatively small town like Marana. The Pima GOP has stayed out of these non-partisan elections.
I also hope the voters in Marana will not only look long and hard at these people who endorse her but also about the change Kelle Maslyn promises to bring to Marana if she is elected. When you read past the flowery rhetoric on her website you will see Ms Maslyn wants to bring a Tucson style of government to Marana. There are a lot of folks who probably would agree that this would be bad for taxpayers and it would be bad for businesses and residents who depend on Marana employers for jobs, products and services.
Lastly, all of the filings for the group formed have been made in cooperation with the Marana Town Clerk’s office. We will continue to fully disclose all information as required by law.
Bitter much Bruce? It took 8 years of Republican hate filled, backward thinking politics and policies of the Bush administration to bring the country to where it is today. Now you want to continue that tradition Republican politics here in Pima County. I do hope the voters of Marana see you for what you are. A failed policy denier.
