After the Donald Trump campaign rally at the Phoenix Convention Center was over, there were clashes between anti-Trump protesters and City of Phoenix Police officers, who fired tear gas and flash bangs.

City of Phoenix Police Department released a statement which put the blame for starting the entire thing on a handful of activists whom they accuse of throwing gas canisters at police.

This photo seems to call into question that narrative. There appears to be no imminent physical threat whatsoever in the vicinity of the police officers in these photos, which have a .019 second gap between them.  The photos were taken by American Babylon photographer Jimi Giannatti.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and the Phoenix Police Department have promised a thorough investigation of the police actions on Tuesday night.

  1. The answer to your question is in the photographs.

    Improvised chemical weapons in the innocuous form of plastic water bottles have been used in past disturbances.

    This threat bothered event security personnel so much that they actually took water bottles away from people who entered the event, which may have had something to do with people leaving early because of thirst after waiting in one hundred degree plus temperatures prior to the event.

    Before you start conspiracy theories to support your political agenda, you really should get all the facts and stop cherry picking. You are not helping to discredit the Trump administration as much as providing fodder for its disinformation machine.

  3. If there’s one thing we have learned as a nation over the past several years, it’s that snap judgements by commenters in places such as these are facile and uninformed. Both sides of the aisle are equally guilty. The mayor and police department will do their investigation and – unlike other locales – I trust them to be thorough and fair. It’s not a moronic question, and we deserve an answer.

  5. No rocks were thrown. Multiple videos and eye witness accounts have proven it. The ACLU is investigating as well and the truth will come out.

    If nothing else, the protesters were being a-holes, blocking the street, and ignoring orders to disperse.

  7. Why did the innocent soldiers shoot children, women, and old men in Poland and Nazi Germany? They said it was because they were ordered to do it. Why do normally sweet gentle children pile on whenever one of their usual friends is singled out and bullied to death? You can’t take the evil and mean out of the human psyche and you don’t know what you are capable of until you are in a situation that demands you join or be ostracized. You can condemn the Phoenix police or side with them on this situation. It will not be settled to please either factions sensibilities.
