Please forgive me. I’m not having a good week.
I can’t look at any of my feeds right now because it’s full of my friends at the New York Comic-Con having the time of their lives. I had a press badge but I couldn’t afford to go this year, but count me in for next year. The next best thing to NYCC is the Arizona Fur Con in Phoenix this weekend. The convention is Scottsdale this weekend at the Embassy Suites Phoenix-Scottsdale Hotel, 4415 East Paradise Village Parkway South, Phoenix.
Unfortunately, I won’t be attending because I’ll be at Tucson Meet Yourself for the first time in a couple years. Tucson Comic-Con is right around the corner but why isn’t there a Furry convention here? It’s this weird fetish I only see in Phoenix and every convention I have attended but Tucson. There has to be a underground community here that meets in some abandoned warehouse that hasn’t been transformed into swanky bar yet.
I know for a fact that there’s a group of grown men that meet to discuss My Little Pony. If Bronies can get together then why can’t the Furries get their act together?

Excuse me, but no. This is an artistic expression. There is a fetish for furries, but there is a fetish for EVERYTHING. Furry conventions are centered around the furry community, NOT the furry fetish.
Rule 34, If it exists there is porn of it. You dont call out anime conventions for its Hentai factor but oh no Furries are nothing but fetish to you? Get your facts straight before posting trash articles. Furries are centered around the love of Anthropomorphic art and entertainment medias. Just like anime has hentai and everyone knows every other fandom has been put through the grinder of erotic fanfiction furries have the sexual factor in a over shined small percent.
If tucson didnt want to be out fetished and out kinked maybe they should have held a fetish ball like the one that was held by Horns and Halos Productions that same weekend at the venue scottsdale that actually has an adult rating versus a pg advertised furry convention.
As a proud furry, I find the fetish comment offensive. We strive to be a family oriented community.

Not being interested in a certain subculture is one thing, but to spread wrongful and hateful information about it is another. It is slander to say that AFC is a fetish event because it simply is not. The convention is for any and all age of peoples and under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent. Mature artwork makes up about 2% of the dealers room wares and all black folders containing such material is clearly marked with a 18+ sticker. You never see this kind of porblem with anime conventions and news people, but its really easy to pick on a growing and virtually unknown fandom such as Furry isn’t it?
I’m not a member of the community but I went to the Arizona FurCon with a friend and found the people there to be pretty awesome. Everybody just wanted to have a good time in a supportive and caring environment.
