Tucson Weekly’s Facebook fans are now embroiled in a heated debate over the best place to get a burger this weekend. The top contenders, as of 1 p.m., appear to be Lindy’s on Fourth, Monkey Burger and Zinburger. Whaddaya think?

  1. The best burger is a “21” Club burger (there are recipes all over the place) not whatever that thing is that is used as an illustration.

  2. Ya know it aint trendy , it aint Chic, its just GOOD. Try the triple at Whataburger, it’ll set you back about 10 bones…but you’ll be Fat , Dumb, and Happy – all rolled into one.

  3. So far it’s a go for a hike, get back from that, homemade chicken corn chowder, sourdough bread, cleanup the yard kind of weekend. Of course, Jim Nintzel, that is oh so tedious and stressful compared to your piled AZ Daily Starish glopburger plates…

    Happy New Year!

  4. Amarsi in Oro Valley has a tasty bar burger. I do like the Whataburger triple. Its so wrong thats its totally right.

  5. I’ve never had Lindy’s, and loved the burger at Zin, but I will NEVER forget the burger from Monkey! It was awesome!!

  6. It isn’t in Tucson; it’s at Home Plate in Patagonia. I can only manage one about every 2 months. Muy rico!

  7. Last year I ranked the two best Burgers in Tucson in my SouthernArioznaGuide dining review section. Zinburger was #1. However, I hear the Ritz at Dove Mtn now has a burger place that may be the most expensive. Neighbor Roy & I will check it out sometime in the next few weeks. Last year we discovered that the most expensive lunch in Tucson is at the Ritz … no surprise there.

  8. My best burger is from Outback @ Grant & Swan! You take a bite and it’s so tender it melts in your mouth …..soooooooo yummy!!!!

  9. Not a huge burger guy, but I am nostalgically fond of the Bob Burger with the Porcupine toppings at Bob Dobbs

  10. Will have to try Monkey Burger and some of the others but to honest my go-to place for a mean burger craving remains Five Guys. I enjoy Zinburger every time I go. Sadly one of the best burgers I’ve had in this town is no more: Create a Cafe had amazing burgers!

  11. 2 best burgers in town….In N Out and Freddie’s! In N Out is all natural and Freddie’s is a super thin burger like Windstead’s in Kansas City. They are so successful that they have been flipping burgers since 1939!!!

  12. Has no one heard of Fuddruckers? Geez… They didn’t say the healthiest. They just said the best.

  13. Fuddruckers. Seriously. Simple, straight up. Make their own buns, grind their own beef. Toppings bar to fix how you want. No peanut butter. No fried eggs. Just the way God intended. Real milkshakes. And no beating back the half dozen pan handlers as you go in and out like Lindys that would set you back as much as your own meal.

  14. anyone who said In n Out, Five guys, Freddies, Whataburger, Wendy’s, Burger King, McDonalds, Fuddruckers, anything in LA, or anything else not indigenous to Tucson, GET OUTTA TOWN!

  15. 1- Kingfisher, 2- Zinburger, 3- Lindy’s.
I wish Tucson would get a Fatburger, but even that I don’t think would surpass Kingisher. If you want a real treat stop by in late summer for the Cali/Hawaii roadtrip menu and get the lamb burger.

  16. No doubt about it, Tucson McGraw’s on south Houghton. And on the lunch special menu, one of the most affordable.

  17. I don’t know: Zinburger makes a pretty damn good burger. You pay for it, but you get your money’s worth. I like Monkey Burger, but it ain’t quite as good. And I’m pretty sure Lindy’s uses straight-up frozen patties from Safeway.

  18. Don’t know if it is still there, but the best burger I have ever had was Cody’s Beef and Beans on Ft. Lowell. You might miss it if you’re driving to fast…their burgers don’t have special toppings and such…but they taste like the old fashion burgers I remember.

  19. I’m with Jacquie: Cody’s has really great burgers. The green chile cheeseburger at Poco & Mom’s is too.

  20. sounds as though it would be out of their wheelhouse, yet kingfisher’s burger will win the day

  21. Monkey Burger!!! all the way their gigantic and also have a great selection of beers
