I didn’t know drinking out of canning jars was a thing people were doing (except for moonshine, for obvious reasons of authenticity), but I suppose it makes sense. At very least, you don’t have to worry about leaking issues. However, while drinking out of jars works exceptionally well while seated and motionless, the process is less smooth while walking. So, someone invented a sippy-cup lid for jars. America is awesome, right?

  1. Drinking out of jars has lost its charm for me. Hey, I’m a grown-up. I can handle delicate glassware.
That being said, at home I drink most of my wine from juice-style glasses that are just like the ones old Italian men used to in the bars back in Wisconsin.

The original Big A also served everything in canning jars. Back then, that was the height of hip and cool. So seriously, Canning jars is so ancient history.

  2. The thing I like about this is that you can take a jar to a coffee bar and avoid using their disposable cups. The thing that concerns me is that a jar full of hot coffee is well, HOT.
