Democrat Shirley Scott has a new opponent in her campaign for a fifth term representing the eastside’s Ward 4: Tyler Vogt, brother of state Rep. Ted Vogt, has filed paperwork for a City Council run on the Republican ticket.

Vogt is still getting the campaign off the ground, but will be available for an interview soon, according to spokesman Sam Stone.

  1. thats all we need, another republican right winger to complete the cycle of these extremists trying to eradicate any democracy to our state by controlling all public offices. people need to wake up before we end up just like the citizens of wisconsin.need i say more?

  2. Possibly electing the City of Tucson’s second Republican Councilman is “…trying to eradicate any democracy…”?? ROTFL!

  3. To ‘tucco’- You’re obviously a product of TUSD La Raza studies; that much is for sure. Before you spout off your ridiculous, unsubstantiated rants why don’t you check Tyler out and see what he’s done with his life. If you find that his ‘BIO’ is one with an “extremists” tendency you have some serious issues of your own. You are the poster child for why this city is in the trouble it is. One can only pray that you’re not old enough to vote.

  4. I checked out the website. It didn’t tell me what Tyler does for a living during the time he has lived in Tucson. Admirable community service, but from what does his daily income emerge? Navy service is over. Does he live solely on his retired Naval officer pay? Full disclosure please.
