Tucson Doobie and Tucson Foodie are celebrating Tucson’s booming cannabis culture at 420 Fest from 2 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 19.

The event, which is sponsored by Earth’s Healing, will be at the Whistle Stop Depot, located at 127 W. Fifth Street. It will feature live music, local food vendors, community experiences, and a wide range of cannabis vendors.

Chrissy Mance, CEO of Tucson Doobie, said she’s excited to celebrate Tucson’s cannabis culture with the community.

“420 is the original stoner holiday, so we’re happy to have this event for the community to really celebrate the cannabis movement and cannabis community in Tucson,” Mance said.

Despite helping to produce the event two times previously, this is Tucson Doobie and Tucson Foodie’s first time putting the event together with only in-house staff. This year’s iteration also marks the first time 420 Fest has been held at the Whistle Stop Depot, and Mance thinks the venue improves the festival’s quality.

“I think the Whistle Stop (Depot) is a great venue because it incorporates a lot of Tucson history,” Mance said. “There’s a lot to see and do and walk around in there.”

Guests will be able to browse various flower, concentrates, edibles vapes and more from vendors like Earth’s Healing, The Prime Leaf, SAINTS, High West Farms, Halo Infusions and Pinatas Premium Cannabis.

Mance said many of the brands in attendance are ones that Tucson Doobie has partnered with in the past. She said 420 Fest is another opportunity for Tucson Doobie’s partners to learn about Tucson’s cannabis community.

“A lot of the dispensaries and brands that are a part of our 420 Fest are Tucson Doobie brand partners, so we’ve worked with them in a number of different ways the last year since launching our membership club and we’re happy to provide another opportunity for them to get to know the Tucson area and our members,” Mance said.

420 Fest has plenty of entertainment options to choose from. Guests can play VR games, yard games and even participate in an adult Easter egg hunt, which is sponsored by The Prime Leaf Dispensary. The festival will also feature a lineup of local musicians. The performers include Phoenix-based Herb N Life, DJ Jahmar and the Desert Music Project.

“I’m really excited to welcome Herb N Life from Phoenix,” Mance said. “I think they’re really going to put on a great show. The vibe is spot on for the cannabis community and what we’re aiming to do. Having some local acts like Desert Music Project and, of course, DJ Jahmar, is the icing on the cake. So they’ll be able to just get the crowd going and up the energy level. It’s going to be a great afternoon.”
