After a year of construction, Union Public House is officially open at St. Philip’s Plaza. The restaurant held its first event on Halloween and officially opened to the public Tuesday.

It occurs to me that many might be sick of me going on and on about how great this new restaurant will be, so I’ll stop short of doing the same this time. But I am looking forward to hearing back from those of you who get the chance to eat there soon.

You can check out the menu over here.

  1. Adam – I can appreciate your enthusiasm for any new place. Did you go to high school with these folks? You’re losing credibility by being such a cheerleader. There’s a reason why I don’t subscribe to the AZ star.

I went there the other night, but unlike you I reserved my judgement for the meal. What I found was a barn like atmosphere with a really cool oval shaped bar and impressive taps all lined up. Standard wine racks and some “reclaimed” materials like the chairs and tables. The patio feels like an afterthought and really should incorporate the bar more. The food is tasty, but I felt like they set their prices low to match the small portions.

Now if you are going to follow trends, at least follow GOOD trends. Yeah I tried the CUEball thing. Other than looking really cool, it was not good. Ok so slap on some English cheddar and you can charge $11? Chicken and Waffles? Hell even Mays can’t get that right and that’s all they do. I love a good Gastropub and trust me I’ve been to The York and Father’s Office. Tell your friends to go visit those. If this is the best Tucson has to offer, I’ll just stick to BJ’s where at least the tv’s are big enough to see.

  2. Thanks for reading! I’ll be sure to tell both of my friends to buy round-trip tickets so they can eat at The York and Father’s Office immediately!

Oh, and yes, BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse is certainly the cream of the crop because they have … big televisions!

You, sir, are an ass. Thanks again for reading.

  3. Nice unbiased journalism. Next time eat the food before you cream your jeans for your friends place. You look pretty foolish.

  4. You sure are upset about a place that serves food you call “tasty.” Might I suggest a calming cup of chamomile tea while you figure yourself out?

While it’s fun to be called “foolish” by somebody who casually uses the phrase “cream your jeans,” I’m going to opt out of any more of this fantastic exchange. Also, the owners are not my friends, and you are not a very nice person. If you need the name of a reputable therapist, let me know. Hugs!

  5. I can’t wait to read your official review when you actually EAT the food. I’m sure it will be a 5 star glowing review. Thanks again for the unbiased journalism. Fortunately Jimmy and Rita do the real reviews here.

Thanks for offering the name of a therapist, I have no doubt that you know quite a few.
