Crane Day creates beautiful, one of a kind weavings. I have a large, dramatic airy woven wool poncho I bought from him 15 years or so ago and I treasure it.
Because his work is hand made, one of a kind and beautiful, I find it more beautiful and more pleasurable to wear than the mass produced and more expensive Hermes shawls from France I bought before meeting Day. I am glad to know he is still weaving in Tucson and I plan to make a trip there in Oct. to purchase more of his art/clothing. Thanks for the article.
I was so happy to see the story about Crane Day that I posted a comment but it disappeared, so I am trying again. Fifteen years or so ago I purchased a large, airy-woven Mohair wool poncho from Day. At that time he had been a legend in weaving for many years. I am glad to know he is still in Tucson and I plan to come in October to buy another of his masterpieces. His work is one of a kind and far more beautiful and pleasurable to wear and less expensive than the shawls I bought from Hermes commercially produced in France. Thanks for this story. I hope it posts this time.
