The Range still considers it too early to start talking about 2016, but we’re going to break our embargo to note this nugget in a HuffPo story today:

Brewer has also been included in a list of Republicans who may be positioning themselves for a presidential run in 2016. Politico reported on Monday that she had met with billionaire casino mogul and powerful GOP donor Sheldon Adelson during a recent trip to Las Vegas.

C’mon, seriously? All due respect: As the GOP looks around for a more viable national candidate, we don’t imagine that Jan Brewer fits the bill any more than the Project White House candidates do. What are these people thinking? That she’ll somehow help win over the Latino vote?

BTW, the HuffPo article in question notes that Brewer didn’t exactly draw a crowd to her keynote address at the Western Regional Governors Association winter meeting:

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) played something of a host this weekend as her colleagues convened for the Western Governors Association’s annual winter meeting in Paradise Valley, Ariz. When it came time for her to deliver her keynote address, however, most of her fellow governors were nowhere to be found.

As 3TV News reports, only two of the 19 governors gathered at the conference were in attendance as Brewer spoke on Saturday night. The two governors present, Colorado’s John Hickenlooper (D) and Utah’s Gary Herbert (R), serve as vice chairman and chairman of the Western Governors Association.

  1. She is now AWOL from the state and I have seen social media reports that she is meeting with Sheldon Adelson, no doubt in one of his Las Vegas casinos.

  2. Jan Brewer would be worse (even though she at least has no Y-chromosome) than W! How does she attract the attention? She’s dumber than a post, can’t speak coherently beyond claptrap, and would be another “puppet prez.” I can’t think of many worse puppet-masters than Cheney, but Adelson certainly could qualify.

  3. Is that woman insane… she’s already lost any credibility as a Presidential contender by her comments on Secession…..what’s she going to run for.. Presdident of the Banrupt Republic of Arizona….

    This has to be joke…

  4. I think that whoever the republicans nominate, he/she will have a better shot at the presidency than Romney who flip-flopped on everything, and who invented Obamacare when he was the governor of Massachusetts. After all, it’s a lot harder to be an incumbent than a first term president. Think about it, Romney a businessman with $$ hidden in the Cayman Islands, running (bizarrely) on just tax cuts for the rich and protection of Israel, a Mormon bishop, came within a couple percentage points of beating Obama. John McCain, a decent man and a war hero, would have possibly beaten Obama if he ran in 2012 instead of 2008.

Obama did some good things I agree with, but its like he’s from the 1960’s or something, supporting failed/questionable policies such as affirmative action (which doesn’t make sense in our mixed race society and are probably unconstitutional), and giving money to hospitals to hire “minority” doctors. Most minority doctors are Indians (from India), Asians, and other foreigners who are excellent students who flourished here in the US, though of course these minority aren’t the “right minorities” that he wants to help even though they do an excellent job, and of course face discrimination.

Welcome to the 21st Century Mr. President, racial quotas should rightfully be consigned to the trash bin of history, though I don’t see what is wrong with scholarship for those who are poor, irregardless of race.

  5. @ JLincoln – Obama may have won by a couple of per centage point, as you say, but they were more points than any other recent election, including Geo. W. Bush’s second election when he declared that he had political capital and he was going to spend it. Hey, Barack, “Spend, Baby, Spend.”

So Jan Brewer went to Las Vegas?!? I thought she was hiking the Appalachian Trail.

  6. Of course, there’s no way she could be worse than Barack Obama, and he’s been elected (at least he is expected to advance to) a second term.

  7. The Crypt Keeper (a.k.a. Jan Brewer) as Commander in Chief? This would truly be the beginning of the Apocalypse. Maybe I should start building that bunker and also start hoarding those vacuum packed meal kits. Lord help us all.

  8. She is running on the “No edumacation fer dem yungins” Campaign.. She has had a lot of success with that in Arizona

  9. Okay, folks…. I know we would do anything to get rid of the snare…. however, there’s got to be a better way. I remember there were billboards on Texas when Johnson made President…. “Bring Lyndon home.” In other words they were willing to make the sacrifice for the sake of the nation–will be called on to do the same?

  10. @smithappens: EXACTLY!!! All those blind, bigoted, lemming voters of our beautiful state (party to remain nameless)

  11. She may not be the best choice but at least she knows how to take care of the illegal immigrants problem compared to some who think there gods gift

  12. Somebody in this list should read Scorpions for Breakfast and get to know who Jan Brewer is. Regarding the people who insulted her intelligence, I am sure she’s far more intelligent than they are. She did the right thing as criminals from Mexico shot Arizona ranchers and set up safe houses in Arizona where they stacked up illegals and tortured them for ransom. She did everything she could to stop it while radical SEIU people were imported from neighboring states to protest against her. She stood up for prinicipal while a president greedy for Latino votes sued her for enforcing Federal law.

  13. Growing up little girls were fed ideas of their one dream. You will marry a wonderful man some day and become a wonderful person a wonderful wife. I Suppose I can only speak for myself, being that I always believed that throughout my childhood. I have learned a lot in my early twenties. One major theory that I have grown partial to is that you do have certain dreams and not just one, but many throughout the course of your life. Jan Brewer has my vote for anything she wants to set her mind to. All of her colleges will not stay with her forever. People stay in your life just long enough to teach you valuable lessons, that no other human but themselves could possibly teach you. These people will imprint on your soul, but with that passion often comes tragedy. I believe these are those people which your connections intensity starts as an ember, and it’s intensity grows over time, creating true passion for a fight for freedom. The term ‘life isn’t fair’ seems so fitting for liberals. We humans are overly capable of wreaking havoc in one another’s life. No one really knows how to fix the damage after it’s done. I beleive that Jan Brewer has a purpose in life and I get that. I support Jan in her life choices. God Speed!

  14. She had did her best for AZ.
This woman knows how to balance the states budget by taking all that money from the school system. Then wanted to fight in court not to give it back. Now we have the Ice Cream man running the show and he has the same ideas.
When is this state going to wake up and stop electing cave men & woman?
