Rep. Valarie Hodges, R-Watson, says she had no idea that Gov. Bobby Jindal’s overhaul of the state’s educational system might mean taxpayer support of Muslim schools.
“I actually support funding for teaching the fundamentals of America’s Founding Fathers’ religion, which is Christianity, in public schools or private schools,” the District 64 Representative said Monday.
“I liked the idea of giving parents the option of sending their children to a public school or a Christian school,” Hodges said.
Hodges mistakenly assumed that “religious” meant “Christian.”

“Unfortunately it will not be limited to the Founders’ religion,” Hodges said. “We need to insure that it does not open the door to fund radical Islam schools. There are a thousand Muslim schools that have sprung up recently. I do not support using public funds for teaching Islam anywhere here in Louisiana.”

If I had the money,I would open a Muslum charter school in Scottsdale and take this whole thing to the Supreme Court when they tried to shut it down.I’m not even Muslum,it’s about principle. Should taxpayer public money be spent to indoctrinate children into ANY religion?While we’re at it,what about Scientology,don’t they get some?

memo to Gregory William Wooldridge:Until all of the moderates of the so-called religion of peace take it back from the jihadists, it will continue to be a murderous cult. Hell, even if the moderates would come out on a global scale and condemn the bombings, murders, the throat cutting, the stoning to death, the violence against women, I might change my mind. Maybe the moderates can explain to jihadists what islam is supposed to be. I could go on, but you get the picture. Or maybe you don’t. So, I’ll be waiting for the moderates in islam to make it happen and perhaps then, I’ll change my mind about the religion of peace.
Memo to Robert, I kind of feel the same way about Christianity. If those who practiced the teachings of Christ would come out against the extremists, it would again be a religion of peace.
