The Bloom medical marijuana dispensary, which has outlets across the state, has a local operation on Oracle Road across from the Tucson Mall. It’s easy to find and offers plenty of parking.

Upon entering Bloom, I was immediately impressed. The waiting area was very open, clean and comfortable. There was a large TV in the lobby where, at the time, South Park was playing. Maybe it is my love of South Park that helped to create this feeling, but I believe that it just added to the comfortable vibe.

The counter was the most inviting of any dispensary that I have visited. They have a large counter area that is open and not separated by glass like most I have been to.

After being entered as a patient, I was asked by the staff if I wanted them to fill my order through their quick service window located at the counter. Patients can tell the staff what medicine they want upon check-in. The patient has never had to leave the lobby and can continue to watch TV while their order is filled. I was told that it is usually less than a five-minute wait. Being my first visit and not knowing what I wanted, I chose to wait. While waiting I witnessed a patient that used the quick service window. They were definitely done in less than five minutes. It appeared to be a very convenient and efficient option for patients that know exactly what medicine they need.

The menu was displayed in various areas around the waiting room.

After a short wait, I was called back. The Budtender, who called himself “Mr. T,” was friendly and helpful. I asked many questions and he was happy to answer them all.

The flower display at Bloom was very organized and easy to view. They have sample jars of each strain at each patient station. The Indica and Sativa strains were separated with hybrids in the middle. Each jar was easily accessible to the patient and has a card on the display showing its test results. I was assured that results are updated for each batch.

There was a very nice selection of flower at Bloom. I was impressed by the many quality Sativa choices.

While in the waiting room, I noticed that the flower was $10 a gram. This is their everyday price on all strains, plus tax. With a first-time customer discount that gave me half-off the purchase of an eighth of an ounce, I was able to try multiple strains for a very reasonable price.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Bloom sells their flower prepackaged. I do not find it to be the common choice among dispensaries, but I personally feel the prepacking makes the medicine fresher and not as dry.

The staff assured that their concentrates are made from nugs and not trim. One brand of cartridge they carry advertised the highest testing extract. I did not try any concentrates. The price of the concentrates was on par with other dispensaries, but many dispensaries have a discount day when the prices are greatly reduced. Bloom does not, therefore they seemed too high-priced for me. Plus, I was there to try their very competitively priced flower.

Bloom offers discounts to veterans and has special day for seniors to get a discount on their medicine.

With their low price, good quality and nice selection, I will gladly go back to Bloom for the fresh and potent flower.

  1. First one’s free, next one is 5 bucks, and then your hooked.
taking a line from reefer madness.

The plant has different quality depending on location of the plant. The top going to the “HMMM” TOP SHELF, the rest thrown into a bin for packaging. Just the loss of weight in moisture from open environment will take 20+ % on a $16,000 LB retail weight is a loss of $3200. Weight that goes up in the air that you pay for.

I have been to a dispensary in Phoenix. The bud tender opened a big jar pull out a bud in front of me. A young person who was so enthused upon the sight of a bud. Then pull out a trimming scissor that resembles a cuticle trimmer. Then start trimming the sugar leaves $20.00 a gram. To be honest I would rather had all the sugar leaves in shake. The bud he trimmed left a nice stick to some they grind that up and smoke it.

Honestly as a consumer the AZDHS should make a standard where all product needs to be prepackaged. All packaged product needs to be from a licensed ANY state processing facility. If the ADA what to be exclusive for AZ, Open the doors to free enterprising. I dont have anykind of loyalty to a dispensary. With this MPP proposal I will go to WA or CO as I go there 8 times a year. Punch cards basically carnival pricing and specials yea moving. On to a place that know the product not the marketing of the product. Not what product is getting old and now it has a new set of terpenes ? How did that happen.

All product should be prepackaged. Who would buy edibles cut from a consumable of some type wrapped in Saran Wrap and then given. Or how about pouring oil into a vial for your vape pen?

This give the retailer to much loss unreported sales and keeping the tax collected. If the retailer bring 1oz into inventory then there should be 1 ounce of sale or the unsold product in inventory. This should be monitored by the Dept of Revenue. Monthly audits like workmens comp does. All weight should be done by AZ department weight and measures scales. All processing facilities should be licensed by the local dept of health and periodically follow up by the state. Completely unannounced the just show like OSHA.

For the daily consumer the $10.00 is the stuff on pre trim and the lower part of the plant. What ever is left over goes into the pot to cook out the Cannabinoids. Then put into oil for various purposes basically parts and pieces. That why there is so much incontinency in product. Each point of sale should be of a consistent quality I get so disillusioned when I see a Leafy report of a strain on quality and terpenes and the product is nothing like the picture shown or reported on terpenes and quality. Have you ever got a big mac that looked like the picture?

The Arizona Medical Marijuana Consumer in my opinion is being fleeced. Just wait till the new rules and regulations happen if this atrocity of a MPP passes. Not one place in their proposal relates to consumer advocate. Just keeping oligarchy to keep the fleecing build a large duplicating government agency to insulate behind the other existing agencies. this will allow them to run roughshod across Arizona taking all in the wake.

  2. I am also curious why is María Inés Taracena posts on marijuana not listed in the Range Marijuana columns? Maria seems to be fair not orientated toward market but concerns for the consumer and retailer expressed. Is the the Editorial staff ?? things are slipping away huh wonder why.

  3. Too bad this reviewer didn’t try any of their crumble, they do it right 90% of the time. Pick a really dry, crunchy-looking crumble and you can’t lose.
