It didn’t take long at all once reports started coming in about the explosions at the Boston Marathon.

For the uninitiated, a false flag attack is one in whcih a country or organization carries out an attack under the guise of another country or organization — shuffling the blame off to another party, basically.

And since the shootings in Newtown, it seems to be the conspiracy theorists’ phrase of the moment — any mass violent act is possibly, probably, more than likely associated with the government, who is making an effort to cover your eyes and ears, feeding you information that conforms to the truth they want you to believe. Don’t believe the lame-stream media.

Whatever. The fact remains that there’s a section of the Internet that is convinced that the government is behind the explosions at the Boston Marathon — or at the very least, they have a suspicion:

  2. I’m of the opinion that, every so often, people have to be exposed as to who the fools are so they know who to ignore.

  3. As Gramma used to say, “Son, some folks are just warped and can’t the truth through their own fears”. And these falseflaggers sure fit the bill.

  6. Yeah, clearly the falseflaggers are paranoid, perhaps even realistically so nowadays. However millions of people die every day, of hunger, war, curable diseases, and yet people and governments who can help fix the world situation would rather bicker and bullshit online about who is to blame. It is clear that we are all to blame, these self destructive events would not happen as frequently as they do in society if we were on the right track. We need to change as a species, as a planet.

I have no idea what really happened in Boston, and I daresay neither does anyone else at this point, and I think there are definitely people who jump far too quickly to unsupportable conclusions on this kind of stuff, but dismissing the false flag concept out of hand is just as foolish. Elements of our government have used the strategy repeatedly in the past, with great success. (“Attacked” our own ship in the Gulf of Tonkin to precipitate the escalation of the Vietnam War, sank our own ship in the Havana harbor to precipitate the Spanish-American War, ignored intelligence on imminent Pearl Harbor attack to ensure entry into World War II, et al.) Other governments have successfully used this strategy as well. I think it has been used at times in the belief that a greater good was served by what can only be considered treasonous acts. (i.e., this kind of logic: it was morally right to enter World War II, but it could not have been done without a Pearl Harbor-type event due to strong public opposition to entering the war.)

    Say what you will about the consequences or moral underpinnings of such strategies, but denying that they happen is simply ignoring reality.

  10. Excellent points and post, skinnyman-thank you for weighing in. People who ignore or deny the possibility of government involvement in this event do so only out of willful ignorance.

  11. One has to ask “Why, (instead of reporting about the simultaneous bomb drill taking place during the Boston Marathon) commence a witchhunt without any substantive analysis using a new catch phrase, “false flaggers”?

    These same people who lack any skills involving critical analysis, media literacy, or civics education think they make their own job easier by dismissing critics of the official story as conspiracy theorists.

    Myths about Pat Tillman, Jessica Lynch and Incubator babies only survive with the help of media flunkies you find in so-called alt Weeklies like this one.

  15. Haha…Zzzzzz…so many are asleep!! This boston incident is not about govt false flag stuff. However, I just heard a few seconds ago on 2 different news stations, the pusing of the idea that the “internet” is the cause of these type of terrorist attacks…so if you are awake you will realize that this will be the excuse to attack the freedom of the internet…which of course it doesnt take a rocket scientist to guess what sorts of CONTROLS will result.
    Patriot Act Part-2″?????….slowly chip away at our freedoms…all for safety?? What did Benjamin Franklin say about those that are willing to give up freedom for security??…Lmao!! The USA average citizen, one of the apathetic and dullest out of all nations. Baaaa-Baaa!!

  16. Where do you get your information from? Big media news networks? Not saying this was defintely a false flag attack. In fact, it probably wasn’t. I’m just saying don’t be 100% positive about anything without reliable sources.
