There are thoughtful, intelligent reviewers using Yelp (including our TV-writer-who-writes-stuff-when-he-feels-like-it-I-guess Jordan Green, who is “Yelp Elite ’11”, whatever that means), offering their opinions on places they go to, giving others a sense of the options available in their community.

On the other hand, there are a bunch of dimwits who give arbitrary grades and have little to no context to provide for what they’re reviewing. Thanks, Fuck You Yelper, for collecting the useless rantings of those reviewers.

The editor of the Tucson Weekly. I have no idea how I got here.

  1. The Tucson Weekly is a sad excuse for a “newspaper.” It’s the lowest of the low. I have absolutely no respect for anyone who “writes” – if that’s what you want to call it – for this garbage pail. They are definitely showing their education level and the vulgar, one sided, disgusting display of self. Get a real job and shut this trash down. Does anyone even purchase this filth disguised and wrapped in the form of information/news? Burn baby burn!

  2. I don’t understand why this article was written. I think Yelp is super useful and writing this blurb to link to this dumb blog is far more “useless” than Yelp itself.

  3. Yelp has helped me on many vacations. You need at leat a high school diploma to use it successfully. One review is a poor indicator indeed. The more the merrier. What’s the alternative? A anal retentive newspaper reviewer? The proof is in the averages!

  4. Terrible article. Yelp is a very useful tool – you can’t judge by ONE posting. Sounds like someone has a bad attitude! Whenever I am choosing a new place to go or place to shop- I check Yelp first.

  5. If you truly want to support a business or organization, and want your review to be effective, nothing beats word of mouth, tell your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers.

  6. LOL at the butthurt Yelpers or Yelp plants in the comments section trying to defend yelp as a credible website while trying to descredit the article because what the article says is true and has hit a nerve with Yelpers
