We’ve done a bit of reporting on the efforts of Arizonans for a Brighter Future to knock out the incumbents on the Pima County Board of Supervisors here and here. To recap: ABF is a non-profit business league funded with dark money and headed up by developer Mike Farley, who is unhappy with the current Board of Supervisors and Pima County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry.
ABF is now funding Restoring Pride in Pima County, a political committee that is presenting a series of web videos called “The Pima Bunch.” The debut episode, which you can watch above, promises to reveal a web of cronyism behind the power structure in Pima County.
We’ll see how persuasive this particular effort turns out to be. The key race is District 3, where Republican Tanner Bell wants to defeat Pima County Supervisor Sharon Bronson. Bell’s most recent campaign-finance report showed that he didn’t have much money to get his message out, but new reports are due this week. In the meantime, Arizonans for a Brighter Future is hoping to do at least some of Bell’s work for him by attempting to drive up Bronson’s negatives.

Bronson wasn’t mention Nintzel. Do you know something we don’t? I don’t get how the story fits the video. Are you trying to tell us Bronson is more involved in Rio Nuevo then we people know?
Come on Nitz you blue bias is showing. First of all, there no secret plan to Overthrow the Supervisors, we live in a constitutional republic, so when politicians are thrown out on their butts its the will of the people not an overthrow. However in the case of Pima County (Huckdom), King Chuck is actually afraid he may actually lose his job. Also Tanner Bell Will beat Sharon Bronson as she has not been out to nearly 50% of her district since 2008. Also someone like her who has been in office for 16 years is disgusting and the fact since the dems took control of the Board of Supervisors the Poverty has skyrocketed in this county to nearly 30%, (you should know you all wrote an article about it). What has the county done to help those people. Nothing but scarring away business and job creators as our population hurts. You should be Outraged, but instead of asking for new leadership such as Mr. Bell, you make excuses for Bronson and turn attention to other things that aren’t as important. When was the last that Bronson even acknowledged the high poverty rate?, or Elias, Valdez, Day, Carrol? They’re challengers all are making the high rate of Poverty/unemployment/road deterioration in this county an issue. You should be supporting new ideas Nitwit not making excuses for the old guard. Oh and the reason you wrote this article is because YOUR IN THE VIDEOS!
Its funny to me that Elias didn’t even know Midvale Park until this election and I started making noise………….PLEASE get this right Tucson……….vote Elias out! Vote FERNADO GONZALES AND TANNER BELL And get rid of Bronson and Elias! We deserve and need a change. Hopefully with the change the Huckster will be right behind them! 🙂
Aeden: The goal of Arizonans for a Brighter Future/Restoring Pride in Pima County/Joe Higgins et al is changing the majority on the Pima County Board of Supes. In order to do that, they have to knock out the incumbents. The most likely seat to flip would be Bronson’s District 3 seat. That’s why I identified it as the key race. (Also, while Bronson’s name wasn’t mentioned, her image shows up multiple times in the video.)
Stand Up: I didn’t notice that I was in the video. Perhaps you’ve gotten a look at future episodes? If so, you could have at least had the decency to include a spoiler warning.

I believe there are some serious cronyism problems around Tucson, especially in the county, but I question whether the fools behind this silly video are capable of exposing it accurately.

I have been trying to understand the hell that makes up out local politics for decades! As a local small business, employer of 12 to 30 people for nearly 20 years.. as a homeowner, and especially as a small guy who just wanted to build his retirement home here (in Pima county) I have found EVERYTHING I do here to be a monumental task, where NOTHING can get done, apparently without Bribes (which I refuse to resort to!) SO my plan has been to relocate, and I am very near doing it! But then again, that is exactly what the anti-growth idiots want! I have watch Pima Country Government turn rural Pima county into a SLUMMY MOBILE HOME VILLAGE because they make it all but impossible to build a custom home without choking up $20,000, easily before you ever scratch the ground! That is in permits, “Environmental Impact” Fees (What a Fraud!) and YES Crony Payoffs to their friends to get Outrageously expensive “Engineered” drawings, stamps.. and that’s just the start of the list! Try drilling a well in Pima county! Any of these things requires an act of Congress and a team of Lawyers! Even if the video is not Hollywood caliber, WHO CARES. I am VERY thankful for this effort to point out the massive problem, and I hope the criminals are investigated for this activity! ANother thing that has been under my skin for decades.. ROAD construction! Tucson and much of Pima county are under “perpetual” road reconstruction! I-10, West Grant road, MANY areas, are ripped up every couple of years, and replaced with either exactly what was there, or an insignificant improvement! It has been obvious to me one or more people in local government is keeping friends/family in the road construction business! It’s not a small problem, it has been a nightmare here form most of my life! TUSD, I pulled my kids out and home schooled them! Incompetence and Marxist agenda from top to bottom! Time to REMOVE ALL OF THESE PEOPLE,and anyone even remotely attached to them. Good work folks!
I’d like to clarify my note above. Road construction is performed on perfectly good roads that do not need, and everywhere else, potholes just get filled with a little tar! Take Grant Road West of I-10, I will bet that area has been ripped out 10 times in the past 20 years! Never has it been in bad enough condition for that, and never has it been upgraded (maybe once) to anything different! On top of that, as soon as they complete the new paving.. they trench through a dozen places to do utility Work! There is a scam going on here and as I said, it only one of dozens of examples! On schools, I home schooled my kids for 5 years, because in 3rd grade my child actually graduated with a worse spelling and reading level than she had in 2nd grade! Meeting with her teacher revealed that they wanted more singing and art classes, and also revealed to me that they wanted to eliminate REPORT cards! I was floored! I asked the principal HOW is this going to prepare my kids for college!? I just got a smug smile and retarded look from her! Is it any wonder Pima has the worse education system in the U.S. and U.S. in the world! One last note, after home schooling for 5 years, I put my kids back into schools, but in Vail Schools! They flourished, and were at the top of their class with no effort, while the others struggled. These are REAL impacts caused by REAL problems and real Cronyism and defective policies. People here need to wake up and look at who runs things! Leftist politics is designed to keep your children uneducated, to keep the political machines in power!
