This one breaks my heart: The Bagelry at 2575 N. Campbell Ave. has apparently closed. I’d noticed that there were chains blocking off the driveway for some time, but I just called their number and it’s been disconnected. I noticed a lot of furniture stacked up inside when I drove past it early this morning as well.
While there’s always a chance that a place is closing temporarily, a disconnected phone almost always signals closure. There’s a boarded up window at the place, too.
Such a bummer. It always stings when little mom-and-pop joint like this closes, especially a super-old bagel joint with a drive-thru. You will be missed, Bagelry.

So, nu, where does one go for real bagels? Hot Bagel Bakery (Tucson Blvd and Speedway) is long gone, East Coast Bagels (where now stands Bruegger’s at Wilmot and Broadway), Bagel Cafe (Alvernon and Speedway), and now Bagelry. *sigh* Looks like we’re stuck with the “rolls with holes” proffered by Bruegger’s, Einstein’s, et cetera.
I grew up on the east coast and this joint was the closest we had. I would drive from 22nd/kolb just for them. This sucks.
Last time I was there they were out of bagels…..seriously, out of bagels! And other times they were nearly out of bagels.
You cannot stay in business when you don’t have the with-it-ness to keep up with demand of your main product.

Aw very sad I loved getting my breakfast egg bagel sandwiches there! I also remember Bagel Cafe that was so good.
Major bummer. Great location great bagels. Great drive thru. Not sure why this failed.
had my last bag of bagels 2 days before they closed..i got 6 of the jalenopo and these right out of the oven and so damm hot i couldnt even bite one for 1/2 hour that was my last purchase..damm i wish theyed reopen allready..but good thing the last el-taco is just down the street
