On Tuesday, we forgot to thank Alice Paul for the 19th Amendment and helping women get the right to vote. Seems like we’ve always had that right (even when certain disparities remain regarding wages and workplace attitudes). But what a great way to celebrate the 88th anniversary of the 19th Amendment than with a School House Rock video:

Or give Alice Paul some love, and rent Iron Jawed Angels.

Thanks, Alice!

One reply on “Thank You Ms. Paul”

  1. Iron Jawed Angels is in my DVD collection. After seeing it the first time several years ago I thought it was important to watch with my daughters when they were old enough to appreciate the work and sacrifices of these women. I loved the mix of biographical history and modern music, which truly brought out the forward-thinking ways of Alice Paul, Lucy Burns and all the others. This year’s presidential primaries and upcoming election have sharpened the focus on the importance of women in politics and what it took to get to this place.
