If you’ve ever wanted to have the opportunity to speak freely and frankly with members of local law enforcement — and with some level of anonymity — the Pima County Sheriff’s Office is giving you that chance.
At 9 a.m. Tuesday Sgt. Kenneth Coultas from PCSO’s Personnel Unit will host a live discussion via the department’s Twitter and Facebook accounts for anyone and everyone interested.
The scheduled topic is ‘Careers in Law Enforcement,’ but if this online chat is like any other I’ve been involved with, it’s likely to devolve into a variety of other topics, not all of which are of a positive tone.
A news release issued by PCSO spokeswoman Dawn Barkman said participants will be asked to stay on topic, and to submit unrelated questions in writing through the department’s Web site, but we all know that’s not going to be adhered to by the question askers.

What I’d REALLY like to tell the Sheriff’s department? Goodness… where to start?
I’d start with “thank you”. Thank you for putting your life on the line, every day, to protect our community. Thank you for helping others, though you are sorely underpaid and under-appreciated. And, in that vein, I’ll add “I’m sorry”… Sorry for the individuals out there who will take any cheap shot they can to thumb their nose at law enforcement, who enjoy the protection you provide but would rather stir discontent.
No police department is perfect, just as no person is perfect. But I read this article, and my heart feels heavy… The discussion is careers in law enforcement, and I feel you are soliciting individuals to come and bash the Sheriff’s department. I am all for thoughtful discourse, especially when it comes to government and community protection, but I request you (and all individuals who you are inciting to “cop bash”) still respect that law enforcement risk life, limb, and mental well-being every day to make our community a better and safer place (I assure you, they certainly do not do it for the money!).
Suppress this, Deputy Dawn Barkman and Deputy Kenneth Coultas:
“Deputy Arizpuru shows up for trial . . . with a very different story”

Et tu, Clarence Dupnik?
Keep the speeding cameras, get rid of the red light cameras. Too dangerous.
The deputies for the most part are true professionals. Dupnik on the other hand is as a political hack who only sees things through the liberal lens donated to him by the Democratic party. He is an embarassment to law enforcement. Research his past political activities in a fair and unbiased manner and you will see how nasty he can be. During campaigns he has no touch with the truth and will go to no length to distort the facts and assassinate the character of his opponents. Retire, you old hack and get someone who has the welfare of people of Pima county at heart not just your cronies.
