It’s probably not a game-changer in the six-way Republican primary for governor, but dark horse GOP candidate Frank Riggs has captured the endorsement of Ted Nugent. We can only hope that the Nuge would be Arizona’s poet laureate in a Riggs administration.

The press release from Team Riggs:

Legendary musician and proudly outspoken conservative leader Ted Nugent today announced his endorsement of Republican Frank Riggs for Arizona governor.

Said Nugent, “After meeting with Frank Riggs and his team, I have come away knowing that this dedicated patriot is just what Arizona needs… He’s the right guy for the right times.”

“I’m honored to receive Ted Nugent’s endorsement,” said Riggs. He continued, “Ted is a principled and unabashed conservative and a true warrior in defense of our constitutional freedoms, including the Second Amendment. Like Ted, I am unwavering in my belief that our U.S. Constitution is the law of the land, and provides us with our individual liberties and state sovereignty.”

Nugent stated, “Arizona is surely one of the best states for quality of life and freedom… and in these crazy Obama times, Arizona must not just hold the line, she must push back hard. Frank Riggs is the right guy to do it.”

An internationally celebrated rock guitarist, Nugent is equally well known by millions of Americans as one of the nation’s most outspoken supporters of Second Amendment rights. He has served continuously on the Board of Directors of the NRA since 1995. “The Nuge” is also dedicated to preserving America’s great outdoor heritage for future generations. In addition to touring with his band and appearing in his Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild television show, Nugent is also a prolific contributor to WorldNetDaily, Newsmax, Human Events, and the Washington Times on constitutional rights and the need for a rebirth of individual liberty and personal responsibility in the U.S.

Riggs and Nugent also share a law enforcement connection. Nugent is a close friend of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio who appointed him a Special Deputy Captain of the MCSO. Riggs is a former police officer and deputy sheriff and the only candidate for Governor with both military and law enforcement experience. In discussing why he believes Frank Riggs is the best choice for governor of Arizona, Nugent said, “The mighty U.S. Constitution and sacred Bill of Rights guide the greatest quality of life in the history of the world, and I know that they also guide Frank Riggs.”

Riggs concluded, “Ted Nugent has unparalleled courage of his convictions. He is a straightforward, vocal leader in defense of individual liberty and a powerful champion for constitutionally adherent and limited government. He knows from his uncompromising and constant advocacy for freedom the challenges we face as a state and nation. His support reaffirms what I’ve been telling primary voters all over Arizona: based on my conservative principles and deep, proven record, I’m the clear conservative choice for governor.”

  1. Several years ago a Northern California office holder, Frank Riggs, had a protest going on in his office that he did not like. Since the protesters would not leave, Mr. Riggs had security come through and daub the eyes of the protesters with rags soaked in irritant in an attempt to make them leave. There’s a bit more info about Frank Riggs at: http://stonewalldemsaz.org/friggs.htm

  2. So Riggs will get the pants-shitting, draft-dodging, assault weapon-carrying vote? Somehow, I don’t think Nugent fans will carry him into Babbitt tower.

  3. Far-right wing, tea-bagger nutjob endorsed by far-right wing, tea-bagger nutjob 3rd rate “guitarist/singer”…

    Film at 11…

  4. I like what he stands for but coming from a liberal state like California I’m wondering if he is a part of its down fall. Did he run from adversity and hide in Arizona seems he might bend to the will of the liberals. I would like to hear a response from him directly something that can be posted for i removal from office in the event he sells out. Personally having worked for a large CITY,CORRUPTION went all the way to the TOP. We need GOD FEARING PEOPLE IN OFFICE NOT MEN OF PRIDE. WHERE DO YOU STAND

  5. Mr. Riggs is AGAINST THE DREAM ACT.

This ALL that is necessary for ME to vote For him and against everyone else.
