New York Magazine‘s Grub Street compiled a food destination for all fifty states for people who have money to actually go places this summer and while I assumed they would pick something in Phoenix (Pizzeria Bianco? Fry Bread House?), but instead, Tucson is number one, with El Charro taking the admittedly meaningless honor. Still, it’s nice to be recognized for something positive once and awhile.

Kindly correct to: “Still, it’s nice to be recognized for something positive once in a while.”
Thx!
mi nidito is the best of all mexican restaurants in Tucson and I would also say in all the state of Arizona, without a doubt.
How nice!
To oscar: minideetto will always be number 2…
I agree about Mi Nidito being numero uno. Besides, the owners of El Charro support the Rosemont Mine, which if allowed to happen will be a destructive big hole in the ground that will destroy the NE part of the Santa Rita Mtns. Ray Flores sent an email to me, saying his support for that open pit mine is due to wanting to keep the people at his restaurants employed. Yeah, right. I will never eat in El Charro again.
It seems like The Weekly can’t slobber enough over restauranteurs who support the ecological disaster of the Rosemont Mine. This is the 3rd or 4th puff piece article in the recent past about El Charro. A couple weeks ago there was a cover story on the other land-raping supporter, Mr. An. You mean to tell me there are no other stories in this town worth writing about? WTF Weekly? Where’s your conscious?
