Hundreds of protestors against the current Broadway Improvement Project gathered at the Sunshine Mile on Sunday, April 17. After musical performances and speeches, the group walked along a portion of the targeted area to Treat Avenue and repeated crossed Broadway Boulevard using the lighted pedestrian crosswalk while carrying signs bearing the slogan “streets for people.” The Tucson City Council will vote on whether to proceed with the project on Tuesday.

Few things could illustrate better why Tucson is the 5th poorest city in the country…and DAMN proud of it.
No growth, no jobs, no future.
Few things could illustrate why I keep avoiding my meds. Sorry, I really need to make sure that I take certain medications at certain times…or…I come across as a real asshat.
More growth, for me, for the future.
Sincerely,
The New and Improved What, Again
This fiasco on Broadway is a microcosm of why this town gets nothing done. The politicians make decisions and once the word finally gets around, the opposition grows. No two people can agree on what progress looks like.
What pray tell does “Streets For People” mean? People living on the street?
Amazing.
If the egregiously jejune, nasty regressives like what and rat weren’t posting here we’d have to invent them in order to expose their racist, bigoted, short-sighted “points of view”…
Thanks for being here to spew your vitriol, guys!
(As for Broadway AND GRANT ROAD, what part of less traffic, higher temperatures and less water in the future does the growth lobby not understand?)
oh, so more CARS means a BETTER ECONOMY??? how does that work, pray tell…
Point out the racist and bigoted points of view in my comment. I commented on lack of progress.
