Here’s my idea:
The government sends out an email or a letter or something to every parent of a pageant-aged girl in the country, saying they’ve been selected to appear on the new season of Toddlers and Tiaras. Everyone who replies that they would love to be on the show, we take away their kids and give them to someone sane and with a sense of decency.
On a civil liberties level, this is an uncomfortable proposition, but sometimes we have to step out from our boundaries for the greater good. I guess you could email the Learning Channel (what do you call it when the name of something reflects an alternate reality from what it describes?) and ask them to take the show off the air for the benefit of society, but I might like my idea better. The show only reflects a disturbing world that will continue to exist without the spotlight of the show. Let’s solve the problem at the source.

“…………The government sends out an email or a letter or something……”
Am I the only one to see the predisposition we have created to get the government involved in our personal lives, controlling everything we do? Are people being taught that the government is the solution to each and every problem we face? Oh my my, if it is, it’s a sick situation.
While each idea my be fine on its own merits, the net result is a sticky morass which
results in universal poverty….(anybody visit eastern Europe prior to the 90’s, or seen
the pictures of decay in Cuba, or the quick destruction of the economy in Venezuela or
Zimbabwe? Is this what is wanted? Everybody poor and unemployed? This article may be seen as harmless, but it is so destructive, on the highest level.
well mammey, since Mr. Gibson was referencing the removal of children, what other entity would have such capabilities?
I think you have taken the government conspiracy theory to a whole new demented level if you view this post as harmful.
“………….I think you have taken the government conspiracy theory to a whole new demented level………”
Isn’t what I said, don’t misquote people Brunie, it’s bad taste. What I said is that we’ve all been subjected to that which isn’t natural. Nature draws its strength from the organism’s desire to survive. If we give in to this “socialist” mentality, we will be (and currently are) weakening the species (us), by diluting our will to succeed on our own.
I have no desire to see people starve, or not have food, shelter or clothing. BUT, I also
don’t want to see 20 somethings in the basketball court of the projects at noon when I have an ad for employment at a business a half mile from there for which they were qualified, and couldn’t get job applicants. Socialism doesn’t feed the hungry, it makes everyone hungry because, by definition, it eliminates productive citizens by making them into zombies….believe me I’ve seen it first hand.
The pseudo intellectual idea that only the left has compassion is a fraud on all of us. How is it a good thing to bankrupt the country so ZERO entitlements get paid? How is it good to have the government replace peer group pressure that would eliminate creating young girl victims of the pageant crowd. If I had my way, girls under 40 shouldn’t wear cake makeup. But, I’m not willing to turn the authority to decide that issue over to a government that wants to govern that deeply into everyday life.
Hopefully Brunie you can persuade me that I’m wrong. Would be nice to have a logical, valid argument proposed by those who I just don’t understand. Be the first. Present me a logical
argument. So far, the left hasn’t done that. A simple challenge….accept it please.
That wasnt a misquote, that was my own original thought about what you had said, so dont misquote someone as misquoting someone. its bad taste.
Ok Brunie,
You are missing an opportunity to say something, rather than blowing smoke….
Let’s hear something that’s not just noise…
You’re proving my point by default.
well good I proved your point for you. You win! Yay
Brunie,
We win when we bulldoze our old cities and put everyone to work building new ones.
We win when we eliminate the lethargy of the gimme-state. (West Germans want to put the wall back up to keep those tainted with gimme-itis on the other side again).
We win when we get the prison population down to something reasonable.
We win when our children have a better future than we had.
We win when w begin working together, not against each other….
We win when everyone keys on what is right, not what one can get away with.
