Tomorrow, Friday, is the main day of remembrance for Holocaust. 4/27-5/4th are the days.
Last night PBS HD broadcast a documentary I assume for these days.
Tomorrow’s chance of public ‘nudity’ for the sake of equality and against oppression is indeed a mighty odd coincidence. It though is a local act of resistance of at least perceived evil.
With Obama condeming comparisons of our conduct to terrorism it is no time to believe things don’t deserve more attention and sacrifice from as many of us as possible.
Even if one does not see those possibly showing up (prior to)at 8am tomorrow in front of City Court on Alameda as other then disgraceful especially when compared to efforts to resist the tolerance of actions like Hitlers it is at least something relating to the rights of the oppressed.
For me the connection comes from how I learned of this day- from the Sports Illustrated calendar! One actually quite tame compared to the magazine itself, as it’s marketed through walmart until 99 cent stores get them. There are few dates other then major holidays preprinted in it and tomorrows is well chosen.
I do not know the protester, think it unlikely she will gather much support, am quite critical of her impulsiveness in acting alone to now seek funds for representation etc., but I do believe her intentions are good.
I am critical of this editions mention of the holocaust for sport and/or amusement or whatever the criteria was WHILE giving this future teacher such major attention.
I hope that you can outdo your promotion of tomorrows event with others occuring during these days since while it’s a start more remembrance of the past not just actual resistance of it occuring again is called for by this one out of hundreds per year mark.
Tomorrow is when, more then on any other day, it is most official to remember the murdering of millions for political advantage.
