Just in case you missed it, last Friday, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano canceled the virtual border fence, an idea that began in 2005 and has now cost taxpayers $1 billion.

That 1 billion dwarfs the amount of money illegal aliens have cost the taypayers in terms of social services, schools, lowering wages, lowering benefits, etc.
I am glad they did scrap the idea of this fence. It has had huge problems and was a waste of money. Now, hopefully they use the money for the fence to purchase thermal imagers, night vision devices, and other equipment to help the Border Patrol. They can use the money to help local police agencies that are stressed along the border. They can use the funding to help ICE go after employers of illegal aliens.
