A sneak peek of this week’s Zona Politics with Jim Nintzel: Mayor Jonathan Rothschild talks about bus fares, the future of Broadway Boulevard, what he’s learned over his first term atop the 10th floor of City Hall and more. Then the Zona Politics roundtable panel of Republican National Committeeman Bruce Ash and former Tucson City Councilwoman Carol West talk about the fallout from the Obama administration’s executive action on immigration, what Broadway Boulevard should look like and John McCain’s criticism of the CIA’s torture techniques, as outlined in the Senate Intelligence Committee report released this week.

Jeez-us. Y’all gotta find somebody better than Carol West to participate in this “debate” feature. She made a brief, general opening statement on immigration, then let Ash “correct” her for something she didn’t even say, then let him drone on for 5 minutes, then served him up a softball question and let him drone on some more. Even when she was speaking she wasn’t saying much of anything coherent or compelling. There are plenty of stronger voices to carry the Democratic flag.
Let’s get Jonathan Gruber. He knows Americans and what they need.
