Tucson Weekly photographer Josh Morgan was on the scene for Tucson’s slutwalk on Friday afternoon.

Why a slutwalk? It’s a revolution against the idea that it’s OK to assault a woman based on her manner of dress. You can find details here.

Getting hassled by The Man Mild-mannered reporter

  1. So female disney characters are bad role models, and mostly naked women with fishnets are good role models. What are you guys smoking over there?

  2. This is amazing; just amazing.

First of all, you cannot reclaim the word “slut”. It has NEVER had a positive definition to reclaim. It’s like trying to reclaim “stupid” or “moron”.

Second, while I agree 100% with an end to blaming the victim, I’m still not going to leave my keys in my car with the doors unlocked.

Third, while I agree that the focus of dealing with rape needs to be putting an end to rapists (I have 3 daughters!), having a “slutwalk” is pretty far from a correct way to make your point. You’ll get attention, but not the kind you need or want.
